Chapter 3

Waking up I found myself in a white room, I could barely find the will to open my eyes as someone walked into the room "Lincoln your awake good I'm dr Stevens and I've come to check how your going" says dr Stevens as he walked towards me.

"Do you remember what happened?" asked dr Stevens taking a seat beside me

Finally being able to open my eyes I take in my surroundings as I lay in a hospital bed "how did I get here?" I asked confused

"You were in an accident involving a fire someone found you and rescued you, but they ran when your sister found you and this person on the grass at the far end of your schools football field." says the dr looking over my chart.

"You have two broken ribs a broken wrist and a few stitches in you head and if this person hadn't of gotten to you, you'd probably be dead."

Sitting there in shock I took in all the information of today's events.
Suddenly there was a bag placed on my lap. "this was found with you we thought you would want it because it is yours." says the dr before leaving the room leaving me alone with the bag.

Opening the bag I found multiple items I found a phone, books and a wallet opening the wallet I found someone I didn't expect.

"Storm rivers" I say aloud right before iris walks in and I quickly shove everything back in the bag.

"Hey link you ok?" asked iris taking a seat beside me.

"Yeah just a little shocked is all." I say thinking of why I would have storms bag beside me when I was found did she rescue me was she the mysterious person who found me.

"Yeah that makes sense, I'm just thankful to whoever found you." says iris taking my hand in hers.

What am I going to do my bag is with link, he's going to know that it was me.

Walking to first period I began to stress taking a seat in my usual seat at the back of the room I sat in silence the whole lesson thinking of how I would explain this to link if he does know.

Walking from first period I walk to my locker to find Lucy standing there waiting for me.
"Hey did you find your bag?" says Lucy while smiling at her phone texting someone.

"No I can't remember where I had it last I think it might of been my math class Ill have to go check" I say in an attempt to convince her.

"Maybe"

Opening my locker I was shocked to find my bag sitting in my locker, looking around I see a group of popular boys including Ryan standing there talking, I looked though the faces in the group until I found one staring back at me...links.

Grabbing my bag I quickly walked to my next class taking a seat by the window taking in a deep breath.
The bell rang and I pull out my music book ready to learn when I hear a buzzing noise looking towards my bag I pull out my phone and on the screen I read.

UNKNOWN- thank you.

STORM- for what I don't know who you are?

UNKNOWN- for saving my life storm rivers.

Realization hit me and I sat there in shock only to be knocked out of my thoughts by Lucy

"Hey storm you ok?"

"Huh ah yeah I'm great sorry I was distracted about the test yesterday I didn't finish it." I say

"Haha you and your schoolwork." Says Lucy laughing at my comment

"Sorry it's just I was in the middle of my math test when the fire alarm went off."

"Your a strange one" commented Lucy shaking her head as a smile appeared on her face.

My phone began to buzz again and I look at the screen

LINK- you are a strange one storm rivers.

Looking around the room I see link looking towards me with a smile.

STORM- I don't know what your talking about.

LINK- how do you think I have your number storm because you left your bag with me when you ran off.

The bell rings and I make my way out of the class putting my bag in my locker I made my way towards the cafeteria but was pulled into the closet by a mysterious figure right before being forced against the wall.
Pulling from there grip I punched them in the gut before kicking them in the groin making them cry out in pain as I turn the light on to see who it was.... "link oh crap I'm sorry." I say

"Nah its .... Ok I deserve it." says link still toppled over in pain.

"No I'm really sorry...."

"Stop saying sorry if it wasn't for you yesterday I would be dead." whispers link making me freeze In my position.
"You can stop denying it I know it was you."

Silence...

"Really your not gonna say anything now." says link in frustration

"It wasn't me I've been looking for my bag since yesterday before maths I couldn't do half my work because I didn't have my calculator." I say in a convincing tone.

"Sure what ever you say..." says link holding onto his ribs before fainting on the floor.

"Crap!" I whisper before sticking my head out the door to see if the coast was clear before dragging link out and doing the only think I could... Take him to the nurses office.

Walking into the nurses office I placed link down on the bed before saying... "I found him on the ground in the hallway he must of collapsed." I say in a convincing tone before the nurse rushed towards link seeing if he needed to be in hospital.

"He's not breathing grab the phone dial the ambulance." realization hit me that I might of seriously hurt him.

"Ok" I say grabbing the phone and dialed 911 "hello hi I'm storm rivers calling from the nurses office at west gate high school a student here collapsed and isn't breathing." I say beginning to get worried, in a calm voice the lady on the other end replied "keep calm and tell me the students name there's an ambulance on the way."

"His names Link Davidson he's 17"
I say trying to keep calm but my heart was racing a million miles as she replies "this student was here yesterday after he was pulled from a fire is that correct?"

"Yes"

"The ambulance will be there shortly ."

"Thank you" I say shortly after the line goes dead and I hear sirens coming from outside shortly after the room is bombarded with paramedics

"Miss rivers?" Says a paramedic from the nurses door

" yes?"

"Are you coming?"

"Yes" I say walking out of the office towards the ambulance getting stares from people walking down the hall including Ryan and iris.

Rushing towards me iris asked "is that link there taking to the hospital?"

"Yes he collapsed call your dad tell him to meet us at the hospital."

"I'm coming with you."
