Chapter 4

"Miss you can't be in here" says the paramedic to iris as she takes a seat beside link.

"He's my twin brother." says a worried iris as she grips my hand for comfort.

"Let's go we need to get him to the hospital." the paramedic says to the driver as he closes the door.

Soon after we arrive at the hospital and link is rushed into emergency.
"Thank you." says iris as she take a seat next to me in the waiting room.
"I don't need a thanks." I say feeling the guilt well up inside.
"You do, it's twice in two days my brother has been helped by someone and if it wasn't for you today he wouldn't be alive and getting treated."

"I just saw him on the floor." I say feeling guilty about lying to iris.

Three hours had past and still no doctors had come through those doors beginning to get worried I walk toward the desk and before I could say anything the doctor walked out.
"Ms Davidson ms rivers I'm dr Stevens Lincoln's doctor"

Rushing towards the doctor I say "is he ok?" I don't know why I care he's a popular but I do.

Iris grabbing my hand in comfort waiting for the answer.
"He came in here yesterday with a few broken ribs and one of the ribs was sticking into his lung but after a long surgery and a few screws we managed to fix him up if it wasn't for your call ms rivers Lincoln wouldn't be alive."
Says the doctor making me sigh in relief.

"Thank you really." says iris giving me a hug.

"He's resting but you can see him now." says the doctor shaking our hands and walking away.

"You coming I'm sure he'd like to meet his rescuer." says iris with a soft smile appearing on her face

"Yeah I'll just give you two some time alone I just need to call my dad he's probably wondering where I am."

"Yeah ok." says iris walking dawn the hall.

Pulling out my phone I dialed home...

"Hello?" says a worried voice on the other end.

"Hey dad it's storm."

"Where are you child I was told you went off in an ambulance!"

"I'm fine dad it was link he was injured yesterday and then collapsed at school today and I found him so I went with him to the hospital."

"Dear your supposed to be keeping him safe is there any suspects?"

"One but I haven't seen him do anything suspicious."

"Keep me updated." says dad sighing on the other end of the line

"Yeah dad I will... see you when I get home." I say walking down the hall towards links room.

Knocking on the door I waited for an answer "come in" says a female voice

Opening the door I see link laying in bed as a lady in her early forties with brown hair and blue eyes to match irises and links sits by his side holding his hand.
"Hi I'm storm I hope I'm not interrupting anything?" I say shyly

"No storm your not" say link sitting up in the bed wincing at the movement.

"We'll give you two a moment." says the beautiful lady standing from the chair beside link placing her hand on my shoulder before giving me a small smile before leaving with iris leaving us alone "I'm so sorry." I apologize profusely

"No I deserved it, I snuck up on you, you just defended yourself." says link gesturing for me to sit.

"I..i don't know what to say."

"You saved my life again and that's all I care for and this time you stayed" says link sincerely

" I...i" is all I could get out

"Thank you storm, for everything no one would save me twice in two days, no one would run into a fire to rescue me.... is that a burn on your arm" says link looking towards the large mark on my arm.

"No it doesn't matter it's nothing." I say as link tries to sit up moving the shirt sleeve up revealing the whole burn that covered my shoulder.

"It's not nothing" says link secretly pressing the nurses button.

Shortly after the nurse came rushing into the room and says " is everything ok?"

"It's not me I need your opinion."

"Really link you called the nurse."

"I wanted an opinion not just your word."

"it's nothing he's being over dramatic." I say to the nurse as link gives me the eye.

"It's not nothing here look it covers her whole shoulder, she did it yesterday when she pulled me from the fire." says link to the nurse.

"Don't tell people that!" I hissed as the nurse rushed to me to take a look.

"That's a pretty serious burn" says the nurse quickly running from the room returning shortly after with dr Stevens

"What's the problem?"

"My friend here burnt her shoulder pulling me from the fire yesterday."

"Stop telling people that it's not true!" i say trying to convince myself.

"Uh ha well I'll need you to remove the shirt to get a better look at how big the burn is." says the doctor in a serious tone

Coughing I nod my head before removing my shirt as fast as I could with out screaming bloody murder placing it over the front of me to cover my bra.

"Your right this is pretty serious, ms rivers this is a second degree burn that covers your shoulder why didn't you come earlier."

"Because I know how those waiting rooms are, plus you needed to worry about the people from the fire."

"Person ms rivers Lincoln was the only one." says dr Stevens

"Please stop calling my Lincoln that's what my dad calls me." says link

"We'll get you patched up and if anything happens after this come to me." says dr Stevens

"I did save link at my own cost and I don't want people to know why do you think I told iris that I found him on the floor and I didn't tell her I pulled her brother from a blazing building!"

"You saved my son."
