I sucked in my breath, closing my eyes and finally managing out some small words, " Hello Parker. "
I open to see the most familiar face known to man, his smirk still evident and his beanie making his hair seem even more bushy, I hated to see such a bubbly guy look so serious. I hated to actually see him after everything went right.
" I'm sorry. I was ridiculous. " He muttered, leaning back into the booth.
I scowl, " If you're going to force an apology. It's never sincere. Parker please, don't be sour. I didn't want it to end that way. And I know for a fact you didn't. "
Parker let out a grunt before looking up to me, " I'm sorry. Stacy. I'm so freaking sorry. "'
I could feel the feelings of our short relationship pound into my mind. I tried to push it out and in return I closed my eyes and placed my hand atop his. His hands where warm.
" I'm sorry, Park. I !missed you. I trapped myself in my own house for weeks... And part of what you said... Was right. "'
He perked up as I continued on, " Zachary. He's going to be mute. Everything caught up to me and. Parker. I kissed him. "
Again Parker looked stern, irritated almost before he leaned forward and pressed his forehead to the table, I had glanced over to see Corrine doing her work. But she had wondering eyes to our scene.
" I'm moving. I got an acting job in LA, and I'm moving with the help of my friend Steven. Stacy I knew this. I knew it wasn't going to work. You live on the opposite side of California. I just wanted to give love a try... And I failed. "
I lurched forward and moved his head, which lazily rolled to face me as I closed my eyes, " Parker you didn't fail. You're adorable and funny. Girls in Hollywood will eat you up. Just don't let them yip at your personality okay? "
" I'm sorry. " He whispered.
Nodding I took my hand away. " I'm sorry too. Parker. I'll see you around okay? "
We both stood up and aimlessly walked from the dinner. I hadn't ordered anything and neither did Park. And I'm certain Corrine understood.
Before getting into his car he looked hopefully to me, " I'd like to hear your name in the headlines someday. "
I smiled, " You too hotshot. Go win a Grammy. "
-+-+-As the days past I realized that the day was arriving soon that Zachary would loose his voice. I was denying the undeniable.
Everything was so drama filled this summer. Last summer I could be seen in my one month stints.
Flordia, Michigan, North Dakota, and Oregon where my four destinations. Flordia gave me little to nothing to the imagination. Nothing but heat and waves filled the May air. Kids had gotten out of school and where wistfully starting summer flings about me.
I held a notepad.
Michigan was just... Weird. The weather was in and out and storms where what grew the crops. And trust me... There was alot of crops in Michigan. I went to the Upper Peninsula. A thing most Michigan residents do often. And the beaches where waveless and salty.
North Dakota; Colllld! Although the vast plains and open fields set !e at a piece of mind for the two weeks I visited. Unfortunately I had not a bit of creativity. So I left early.
Oregon was a hilly, rainy, dark place. It had a certain feel to it that made you feel like a depressed teenage girl. And I had absolutely regretted trying to follow the teenage trends in Oregon.
For being a gloomy place? Drugs make the kids happy.
Sitting and thinking, I wanted this stunt to be the last big drama filled thing. I wanted it over and done with before it even started.
I got sucked into a family tragedy. From day one.
Taking Zachary for his final exam was heart wrenching. The gloom painted on his face almost seemed permanent.
And the day of the surgery. He looked ready for battle. Prepared for his life as I saw him leave through those heavy metal doors. His last words stinging my heart.
" I'll talk to you later alright? Bye Stacy Wacy. "
He couldn't of choose a better sentence.
