[ Kyle ]

It was 7 a.m. I woke up groggily, dragging my body across my room. Once I reached the door, I slowly opened it, making sure there was no one in the house, but me. As I made my way down the hallway and into the kitchen, I noticed the TV was still on.

"Oh well" I whispered softly.

After eating I don't even know what, I quickly got into my shower and washed off. I put on my usual attire; skinny jeans and tee. My red skinny jeans, my black Vans tee; it was one of my favorite outfits. Then, I brushed my hair, putting it all to one side, not like a really give a fuck about my hair anymore. After that, I looked in the mirror and decided I looked half decent, not like I really care.

I left my room and proceeded into the living room, the cold air chilling me to the bone. I looked at my once warm body, only to see the goosebumps beginning to reveal themselves along my arms. I looked at the thermostat, the label reading 35 degrees. I turned the dial, making it a little warmer.

'That's weird, I don't remember turning it down, and I definitely do not remember it being so cold in here' I thought to myself as I shivered.

I grabbed my Vans hoodie, and rushed out the door as fast as I could. When I got outside, it was a normal day, the warm air, followed by a nice cool breeze. Not too hot, and not too cold. I jumped down my porch steps, skipping every step. I turned around, making sure I locked the door behind me, but instead noticed a little note stuck to it. The note reading:

I know who you are, and I know what you do. Nothing will stop us from getting you, and those you love and care about. We know the truth Kyle. Watch your back.

As soon as I read that last word, I ran. To where? I'm not sure.

I kept running, dodging every obstacle in way. I rounded the corner, and nearly ran face first into a little tree branch. I quickly put my arms up, and brushed it out of my face as I ran through. After I passed through, I quickly spotted a house and ran up the stairs.

'I hope someone's home'

[ Katheryn ]

I quickly awoke from my nice dream by the sound of what I believed to be someone, or something, banging on my from door. I sat up slowly as I heard a conversation going on. Only me and my mother live here, so who could it be? I pushed my ear up to my bedroom door, trying to eavesdrop on what they were talking about. All I could manage to hear were whispers.

As curious as I was, I slowly creaked open my door, and walked down the hallway. I peeped my head around the corner, so that only a little bit of me could be seen. I saw mother, and I mysterious guy figure in a hoodie talking quietly. From what I could see, the guy had a tremendous hint of fear in his face and in the part of his eyes that I could manage to see. He had a faded flame tattoo on the side of his neck.

I got bored of standing there, so I walked out and stood there, taking in his features. After a  minute or so, I softly gasped.

'This is the same guy that brushed passed me'

He slowly looked up at me, and I could tell that he noticed me too. He slowly got up and walked over to me, and softly cupped my cheek. I could feel the tingles it gave me. Mother got up, and walked over to us.

"Katheryn, this here" I listened as she pointed to the guy "is Kyle. He's informed me that he is in danger, and he needs a new place to-"

"Yes" I quickly said, cutting her off.

"Oh, okay then. Kyle, you may stay."

"Thank you, I really appreciate it." He said quietly. barely above a whisper.

After a few minutes, we all sat down and we asked Kyle a lot of questions. We were learning more and more about him by the minute. His parents were both killed by a group of gang members, he lives on his own, well, not anymore. I found out that he goes to the same school as me, but I've never noticed him before. He's into bands like Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, Falling In Reverse, Of Mice And Men, Blood On The Dance Floor, Asking Alexandria, and many, many more. He pretty much loves the same bands as I do. His favorite song is 'Do It Now, Remember It Later' by Sleeping With Sirens.

We laughed and carried on a diligent conversation for a while. When I checked my S III, the time read 3:42 P.M.

After we got enough information, or so I should say, more than enough infromation, about Kyle, I decided to show him around the house. I first went into the kitchen, showing him where the plates were, and everything else. After that, I proceeded to the living room, where we were previously at, showing him around, and telling him that no one is barely in here, so he can pretty much 'chill' in here. Next, we walked back towards the end of the house where my room is at, and I showed him the room he would be sleeping in.

The room had a sky blue coat of paint splattered on the dark, charcoal looking walls. After seeing a confues, questioning look on Kyle's face, I explained to I used to take paint, and just splatter it everwhere in this room. he didn't bother to question any further, but instead jumped onto the little mattress in the corner. He looked tired, so I walked slowly out of the room, and back into the kitchen.

As I entered, I noticed mother sipping quietly on her coffee. I told her that I shpwed Kyle around, excpet for the bathroom, my room, and her room. I could tell she was going to ask where he was at, but I told her that after I introduced him to the Guest Bedroom, or my little Art Studio, he jumped onto the mattress and I slipped out of the room. He probably needed to sleep anyways.

Me and mother had a nice and relaxing conversation, mostly talking about Kyle, and how long he was going to stay here, and all that.

"Well mom, how long?" I questioned.

"Umm, I don't really mind, I mean, he seems like a nice boy, and we could really use the company around here. Maybe he can be a help to us?" she replied, shurgging her shoulders.

"Yeah" I quickly replied.

"Plus, he doesn't have anyone, and based on how he looks, I doubt he has many, if any friends at all."

"Yeah" I replied again.

Just as I was about to ask an important question, I heard the doorbell ring. I walked over to the door, and seen a few guys just hanging around. I slowly opened the door.

"We're looking for Kyle"
