My eyes grew wide. I knew I had to answer them.
"Um...No?" I stated, more a question than statement though.
"Are you sure? You seem like you might know him." The tall man squinted his eyes at me and I could feel all the pressure on me.
"Y-yes, I'm s-sure" I somehow managed to get out of my mouth.
"No you're not. He's in here."
With him saying that, he pushed pass me and into the house. Mother stood up and approached the men.
"Excuse me, but what are you doing inside my house." She stated furiously.
"We are looking for Kyle. We know he's in here. You can tell us now, or we will find him on our own."
Mom looked over at me, and I gave her the 'they're dangerous' look. Mother gave a shady nod and looked straight at the men.
"He's not here. I promise you that."
The men started to look around. One of them chuckled at the picture on the wall. Whoa. After they checked the Living Room, Kitchen, Dining Room, and Bathroom, they proceeded to the guest bedroom. My mind went flying, my heart started beating at increased levels, and I couldn't breathe good. I followed the men.
As one of them slowly turned the door knob, I got frightened. The second he walked in, I heard a huge Clack sound, and he dropped on point. I had no idea of what just happened, but in the next second, Kyle came rushing towards the other men, knocking them both out with single punches.
As I stood there and looked around me, it was obvious of who won: Kyle. I was shocked.
"Here, come with me" his voice came out softly, grabbing my hand in the process. He dragged us through the house, and out into the kitchen, where we met my mother.
"I'm not safe here anymore, and I don't think you guys are either. They saw your faces, and they will hunt you down. The reason being is because they know that I'll try to save you guys, and then I'll get trapped in some kind of predicament I won't be able to get out of. You guys can either come with me, or stay here. It's your choice, but make up your mind very soon, otherwise they'll wake up" he said and pointed over at the men on the ground unconscious "very soon" he finished.
"Well" my mom started off "I don't think we have much of a choice, now do we?" she stated looking at me.
"Not really, I don't want to be in danger." I replied as unemotional as I possible could. Kyle probably could tell I was getting emotional because he put his arms around me and brang me closer to him. After a few minutes, I broke it, only to find that my face was wet. I didn't even realize I was crying.
"So" Kyle broke the silence, "What's your choice?"
"We're going with you" Mother replied.
"Okay, then let's get your things together, and then we can head to my house to get my stuff."
"Okay" we both replied in unison, and headed different ways to our rooms.
[ Kyle ]
After about thirty minutes or so of waiting, I headed back towards Kat's room. I was getting worried about her.
As I entered her room, I saw her on the ground crying. I slowly walked over to her, and lightly touched her shoulder. As soon as my touch hit her, she quickly jumped and hit me in my face. I could feel my jaw crack, and I cracked my neck, and rubbed my jaw. When I looked back over at her, she had a shock all over her face.
"I'm so sor-"
"Forget it, it's okay" I said, cutting her off.
As I finished, I caught a glimpse of a tear flowing down her right, beautiful, green eye. It saddened me to see her hurt, but why? I quickly brushed off the feeling, and looked her in the eyes. When I noticed she was already looking at me, I quickly looked down. Why was I so nervous? Damn, this girl.
I looked back up, and I saw a slight blush on her cheeks. She softly bit her lip, and it made me want to kiss her. I made my way back to her, and leaned in, but instead of kissing her, I tightly hugged her. After a few mintues, I let go and asked her if she was ready. "Yes" was her exact reply. We carried her luggage out into the living room, and went into her mom's room.
When we got in there, we saw her looking at a picture. It was of her and her husband...? After she noticed we stepped into the room, she quickly placed it into her bag, and got up and walked into the living room with me and Katheryn.
"You guys all ready?" I asked, making sure they were okay with moving on and leaving. They both nodded their heads, giving me the 'Yeah, I guess so' look. As we left, I took one last look at the living room, and closed the door behind us. I told Katheryn and her mom it'd be better to walk, that way we couldn't be easily seen. I'm pretty sure the goons caught a good glimpse of their car.
As we walked towards my house, something was making me uneasy. I don't know what it was, but I felt as if someone was watching me; watching us. I looked around, but came up short. Nothing seemed too obvious. Kat and her mom just kept walking, looking a little sad. I felt bad that I brought this danger to them, I just hope I didn't put their lives in danger too. I can't believe I almost kissed Katheryn. What is it about her that attracts me exactly? No one has ever had that effect on me, I've been alone my whole life.
I couldn't stop thinking about her, and how I might be growing feelings for her. The more I thought about it, the more I knew she would never have feelings for a guy like me. A lonely, pierced, all black attire guy. I'm the kind of guy you no girl would ever want to be with.
I quickly snapped out of my thoughts as I felt someone, or something touch my hand. As I looked down, I saw my hand laced perfectly with someone elses. I looked over, and saw it was none other than Katheryn's hand laced with mine.
