I woke up, a ray of bright light in my face. As I laid there, I struggled to fully open my eyes up. Something, or someone, softly tugged on my shirt. I raised my hand to shield my eyes from the light, and inspected the tugging on my shirt. I looked around, taking in my surroundings, noticing that I was in my bedrrom, and no longer in the bathroom: where I last remember being. As I looked down, I saw something I'd probably never see before: Krystal sleeping, on me! My heartbeat suddenly starting racing, and I thought she would awake from the pace and constant thump thump thump of it. I covered my heart, trying to at least muffle the sound, but I knew it wouldn't work.
I took a closer look at her, laying gently on me. As I took in her appearance: red skinny jeans, a Pierce The Veil band shirt, and red stains all over it. I didn't bother with it at first, instead, I kept looking at her. Her wavy, blonde hair looked almost gold, and it laid perfectly beside her.
I looked back down at the red substance, and tried to move my arm. No luck. I looked down and noticed that Krystal was holding it tightly, as if something happened and she didn't want to let go. I shook off the thought, and moved my free hand and brushed it softly against her shirt. The substance was dry, as if it had been there all night. I looked back down at my hand that she was holding, and noticed the same red stain. As I took a closer look, I saw cuts, not only my hand, but also hers. My heart jumped at the sight, and I quickly, but gently grabbed her hand. Her emerald green eyes slowly opened, revealing a look of confusion.
I slowly looked into her eyes, and back at her hand. Tears slowly filled them, and I already knew what had happened.
"Why?" I softly questioned her, and her answer really caught me off gaurd.
"I thought you were going to die, and if you did... I wanted to be dead with you. You saved me and my moms life, and you didn't have to Kyle" she softly replied, closing her eyes.
I as truly shocked, and had no reply. Instead, I simply put a gentle grip on her hand, and softly rubbed where she cut. It was a weird moment, but I knew it would only get weirder as life went on.
After a few minutes, I slowly started to get up, gently picking her up with me. I made sure to be careful and not let her fall. As I opened the bedroom door, I put Krystal in my arms, carrying her bridal style down the stairs and into the kitchen; her mother was sitting there, drinking coffee.
"Goodmorning" I started, "Krystal's still asleep, so I'm just going to lay her on the couch" I finished softly.
Whispering, her mother replied, "Okay dear" and finished with a smile.
After I slowly put Krystal down, I took my jacket and placed it around her, along with a blanket: making sure she was warm. I reurned to the kitchen, and started cooking breakfast. I made waffles, and made my way over to the table and placed the plate in front of Krystal's mother.
"Here's some breakfast, it's the least I could do" I said with a soft smile.
