Chapter 5

Meeting my new friends took the edge off acting like a complete stress ball in front of Jake and overreacting over Lincoln earlier.

I wondered if to tell Lottie, Lily or maybe Lincoln about my recent encounter, but then decided against it. For now, it was my secret to keep in my very own magical world.

The next day at school I spotted Jake in the hallway, I tried to sneak past him, but he somehow tracked me on his radar.

"Hey, you ok?" he called over, "You looked kinda spooked yesterday. I really hope I ain't that scary?" he joked.

"No, it wasn't you Jake, it was, well, never mind, it's all good, no worries" I somehow managed to utter back.

"Well that's good to hear gal, 'cause I hear there's a music fest on this weekend and I was hoping we could go together?".

I wasn't even sure what to say? Yes...no...maybe? My head felt dizzy and my heart was pounding out of my chest.

Suddenly, I was consumed by a 'tingly' sensation and I felt a warm glow inside my heart. I looked up and could see Amora fluttering just above Jake's right shoulder.

"Oh Sophia, how exciting is this! Jake has just asked you out on a date". She was wearing a huge smile and literally glowing with happiness. "Just say, Yes!" she screamed in delight.

Nerdy appeared zooming around on her cloud, but she was looking a little worried.

"What if he is a serial killer? What if he tries it on? What if he breaks your heart?" Nerdy questioned anxiously.

Amora 'rolled her eyes' at Nerdy, and then lashed out, "Why do you always have to be such a killjoy?"

"And why do you always have to be so gullible" Nerdy fired back.

"And when are you going to stop being so uptight and take that stick out of your ass?" Amora scolded.

Nerdy cut Amora off by giving her the 'talk to the hand' action. "Sophia, maybe you should make an excuse, this time, wait until you get to know Jake a little more. Also, take some time to work out your feelings for Lincoln." Nerdy urged strongly.

"Ssh both of you" I slammed.

Jake raised his eyebrows and looking rather confused asked "Are you talking to me?"

"Yes..no...yes. Sounds good" I blurted. Hoping that Jake didn't think I had my crazy on again.

"It's a date!" Jake cheered. He threw me a killer smile then swaggered off to class.

 

"Yipeeee" squealed Amora gleefully, and fluttered around me in excitement.

"OMG both of you, don't ever surprise me like that again! Jake already thinks I'm a fruit loop. I don't want him knowing I also see and talk to my heart and head too" I mumbled to Amora and Nerdy quietly under my breath.

"Just be careful. Jake definitely has a bad boy, edgy side to him", warned Nerdy.

"Oh La La" teased Amora, and then blew me a kiss.

"Hey, you guys, chill out. I know you both want what is best for me, but can we not do this now. I'm late for class".

"Sorry Sophia" Amora and Nerdy chorused together. And then like magic they disappeared.

Lottie and Lily were thrilled about my date with Jake. Although Lottie was stressing out big time. She had just seen a picture on 'FaceBook' of Dennis sitting way too close to Narcissa.

"Look at that skinny ass bitch draped all over him. Why can't she get a boyfriend of her own? I'll wipe that smug smile off her sneering ugly face. And why hasn't he replied to my texts?!" Lily screamed, overflowing with jealousy.

"Don't sweat it bae' reassured Lottie. "I'm sure the stupid cow just tagged him and then posted it just to wind you up."

"Yes, just let it go. She wants you to get in a p*** with Dennis and split the two of you up. I'm sure he will reply to you soon".

Then I heard a voice in my head "You don't really believe that do you?" It was Nerdy. I couldn't see her, but she was communicating to me telepathically.

I replied my thoughts back, "Lily is my friend. I don't want her to be more upset that she is already is. Hopefully, Dennis will call her when he has time".

"Stop making excuses for him. Don't ever make anyone a priority if they only make you an option. If someone wants to be in your life, they will make an effort to prove they are there for you. You should never need to chase anyone" expressed Nerdy sternly.

The rest of the school day went by slowly. During the week, I swear between the hours of 8.45 am and 15:30 pm, time begins to slow down. Yet at the weekend, time seems to fly faster than a teenage boy trying to lose his virginity.
