I knew that the second I heard the door crack open I was being watched. I mean people these days, can't I just have some privacy! Every time I try to do something like paint my nails, do my hair, or do crazy impressions in my mirror like my sister does when she is about to go on a date. I feel like I am being watched!

My sister is 16, and her name is Tiffany. She is really pretty, a lot prettier than me. My sister always goes on dates like every weekend! I wish I could go with her so I could be prepared, but when I ask she says, "Noooooooo, no way!" Her excuse is that I will mess her up and she will be alone for the rest of her life. I mean, seriously, does she really think I am that bad?

It's Saturday so I am going to ask mom and dad if Alayna can come over. When we met, we found out we had so much in common. That was 6 years ago and that's why she is my best friend. Alayna is 13 just like me. Her name sort of sounds like mine. My name is Rayna. We both have blond hair, also!

I went down the hall to find dad and mom, but I couldn't find either one of them. Can I please just find one of them so I can ask before it gets to late. I went into the living room, their bathroom, and the wash room, and didn't find them. The last place I looked was in the kitchen still didn't find them. I did find a note though. It wasn't real helpful! I was mad because it said that my parents were on a dinner date and that if I needed anything to ask Mrs. Varnicen, our next door neighbor or Tiffany. So instead of disturbing Mrs. Varnicen I went and asked Tiffany the question I wanted to ask my parents.

I went to my sister's room to ask her, but she wasn't there. Are you kidding me! Are we playing hiding go seek or something? I can't find anybody around here anymore! I heard something shuffling around in her closet. I figured it was just Snuffles our fluffy white cat. She likes to hide in small places and when somebody closes the door to that small place she doesn't know what to do! She usually meows a lot and tries to escape, but it had only worked twice. There is no telling how many times she has hidden in places like that. Like a million and 3! Anyways, I opened the doors to release snuffles and I found my sister. She was looking for shoes to match her fancy dress she had on. "Tiffany do you know that mom and dad went on a dinner date tonight?" I questioned her.

"Yeah, duh, that's why I'm leaving to go to a party that starts in...." She says as she pauses. "Ahhhhh!" She screams. " I'm going to be late!" She waits for a response that I don't give her.

"I was gonna see if Alayna can come over," I whined.

"No. Do you think you can have a friend over when mom and dad aren't home?" she says.

"No,but do you think you can go to a party when mom or dad isn't home?" I say just like she had said to me.

"Ugh!" she said, aggravated. She just walked out the house like I didn't just make a point. So, I'm home alone now. She knows I hate being alone. Why can't I have a sister like Alayna? I sit in my bedroom arguing with myself, trying to decide if I should tell on Tiffany or just let her go on?! What should I do? I lied down for about a thirty minutes and then heard the door open to my room. It was Tiffany with a pretty blue dress on and a pink one in her hand. "Are you ready?" she asked.

"Ready for what?" I said, curiously.

" Are you ready for the party?" she paused. "I read in your diary that you wanted to get a heads up on teenage life before you started," she said happily and smiling as can be.

" What about Mom, will she get mad?" I said, unsure with myself.

" I already asked Mom, she said it was okay if we go," she said as she walking in the bathroom. "Let's get your dress and makeup on!" she said excitedly.
