Miles and Simon (1)

Simon stared at his math book. He couldn't accept the fact that he couldn't figure out the problem, which was killing him in a non literally way. He groaned in frustration as he threw his pencil against the door.

"Woah!" Simon looked in the direction of the voice to see Miles, who he had almost it in the eye with his pencil. "Oh, sorry, Miles...I didn't see you come in."

Miles chuckled as he closed the door behind him. "It's cool, bro. So, why did you almost kill me with a pencil?"

Miles tried his best to not step on the little objects that were in the chipmunks' room, like Theodore's toy car, Simon's paint set or Alvin's red chair.

"Oh...I just can't figure out this problem and it is driving me nuts." Simon pounded his head on his tiny desk, trying to figure out the problem.

Miles kneeled down next to the brainiac and looked at the problem. "Oh, wow. Yeah, that is a tough one."

Simon looked at him. "But, I'm supposed to be the smart one, you know? The one who knows everything and doesn't get stumped. I guess I'm not that chipmunk anymore."

Miles just stared at the chipmunk, shocked. "Simon, what are you talking about? You're still the smart one. It's okay if you get stuff wrong every now and then, that's how you learn. And everyone still is learning, which includes you."

Simon thought about that for a second. Maybe Miles was right. Maybe he was still learning. He had a point there.

"Yeah, you're right. Thanks, Miles."

Miles smiled. "You're welcome, now, let me help you with that math problem." Miles then got out a second pencil to write with, one that was his size of course.

Simon looked at him. "But I thought you said...?"

Miles looked at him. "I know everything about math, Simon...I don't need to learn anything else."

Simon laughed as he saw Miles wink, knowing that he was joking.
