She was such a good girlfriend. Even though it was nearly the crack of dawn and according to her last doctor's visit she should really be spending a lot of extra time in bed, instead she was sitting in her car in the FBO waiting for Wilmer to exit his plane. They had already landed but they were taking forever to exit. For three months he had been out in Canada filming for his new show and she tried to visit as often as she could but they both had careers that were nearly impossible to put on hold so they hadn't really seen each other or spent any quality time together. Now he was coming home and all she could think about was spending the next week locked in their house to make up for lost time.

Finally she saw Wilmer walking down the steps of the plane and she barely registered her arms forcing the car door opening and her legs carrying her to him and wrapping themselves around his waist as he caught her and she squealed because he still smelled the same and he still looked the same and now he was back in her arms and they wouldn't be separated for a while.

"Maybe I should go away more often if this is how I get greeted when I come back." Was it possible for his accent to get even sexier? Demi smiled into his neck as his hands rubbed her back and she felt tears coming to her eyes. They were happy tears though. He hadn't made her cry anything but happy tears in a while.

"Let's go home," she cooed into his ear, smiling as he carried her back to the car and instead of making her drive back home despite how tired he was, he set her in the passenger seat and then went to the driver's side. They were halfway home before she knew it because Wilmer drove much faster than her.

"Remember what you told me when you gave me Buddy?" Demi randomly questioned, reaching across the space in between him to intertwine her fingers in the hairs on the nape of his neck. He glanced over at her, trying to check her facial expression, before focusing back on the road.

"Yeah you had baby fever and I said that if you could take care of him then we could consider having a baby. But I thought you wanted to get married first?" Wilmer reminded her as Demi shrugged. He had proposed and she had accepted and she wore so many rings that no one had really noticed when a new one appeared on her fingers so they hadn't felt the need to announce it to anyone. But she had told Wilmer that she wanted to get married before they started trying for a baby but it was the 21st century and no one really did things the traditional way anymore. The order was starting to not matter to her.

"We don't need a piece of paper to solidify our relationship..." Demi trailed off because they had pulled up to their house and Wilmer had exited the car to get his things out of the trunk, but she stayed where she was. All she had to do was tell him. Three words that would change their lives forever and she was scared of how he was gonna react but this was the same man who stuck by her side during treatment and her entire recovery journey. There was no way that that same man would leave her because she was pregnant earlier than expected.

"You coming?" He opened her door and held his hand out for her which she gladly took because her hands were beginning to tremble and he usually did a great job at calming her down. Demi took a few yoga fire breaths and he led her into the house and flicked on the lights, waking up Buddy who was sleeping in the living room.

"I'm gonna go put my stuff away," Wilmer said but Demi tugged him back.

"Can it wait? Please? We need to talk," Demi pleaded, causing him to raise his eyebrow but he followed her into the living room anyways and they both plopped down on the sofa as Buddy hopped in Demi's lap and rested his head on her thigh.

"Remember two months ago when I came to visit you...and we didn't leave the hotel room the entire time I was there?" Demi asked, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear as Wilmer slowly nodded.

"And remember when my doctor said that the pill isn't won't always work to prevent pregnancy?" Demi hoped that he was catching on. She couldn't even let the words leave her mouth because they were lodged in her throat making it nearly impossible for her to properly breathe.

"Demi...are you...?"

"I'm pregnant...two months along," Demi breathed out as Wilmer began to rapidly shake his head. They were supposed to get married first. And they were both so busy with TV shows and movies and albums and just life in general. How could she be pregnant? She was on the pill and he used condoms and they were safe and they weren't reckless and this wasn't supposed to happen. They weren't ready. They weren't prepared. They weren't strong enough, she wasn't strong enough yet. She could not be pregnant. It just couldn't be happening.

"No, you can't be. We're safe, Demi. You know we're safe. There's no way!" Wilmer exclaimed, hopping off of the couch and beginning to pace back and forth in front of her.

"I just went to the doctor's the other day. I have pictures and my test results. I'm pregnant, Wil. We're having a baby." His reaction was scaring her and putting her on edge and she felt tears fill her eyes as she took in the look of pure horror and shock on his face. It wasn't planned but why couldn't he be happy? This is what they wanted, sure not right now, but it is what they wanted.

"It's not mine then. I use condoms Demi. And if not I pull out and you know that! And I haven't been here for three months and God knows what you've been doing and who you've been with. Nick just broke up with his girlfriend and..." Wilmer trailed off, shutting his mouth so that no more of his word vomit would come out. He didn't mean it. He was just scared and freaked out and all those things had been in the back of his mind but he saw the look on Demi's face and knew that he couldn't take them back.

"You're accusing me of cheating on you? I'm not the cheater in this relationship, Wilmer," she spat, using the back of her arm to wipe her tears away as his expression softened and he sat back down next to her. But this time she stood up with Buddy in her arms and made her way to their bedroom in the back.

"Dems, I didn't mean it. It just came out..."

"You've always had a problem with me and Nick's friendship but I can not believe that you would actually accuse me of cheating on you. I've given up everything inside of me for you and I've supported you through everything and even when everyone talks so much shit about you I defend you and I protect you because I love you yet you have the audacity to sit here and accuse me of cheating." She wasn't even yelling which was the scariest part about it. But she was visibly upset and she sounded heartbroken and Wilmer just wanted a time machine so that he could take it all back.

"I'm going back to my apartment. I'll see you whenever," Demi calmly stated, grabbing her purse and her charger and her phone before she was gone and the door was slammed behind her.
