I was watching my favorite cartoon series, Gravity Falls. When the episode had finished, I started switching our television from one channel to another. Then, I saw the show "Russia's Mystery Files" in the National Geographic Channel. So, I started watching and listening while jutting down notes. Here's what I had written down:
1. DEVIL'S CEMETERY
-It is located in the heart of Siberia, Russia. Some explorers went to that place and saw a big hole with smoke coming out from it and hundreds of decaying dead animals. They also saw subterranean fires and unknown bones. On a tree is a carving of something suspicious because it looks like a man with a long beard (just like what we call here in the Philippines: KAPRE). When they had walked around it, their compasses' needles are not functioning well because it spins rapidly around the compass and their magnetic sensors aren't functioning well, too. They got a rock sample from around the hole and saw elements common in meteors. They suggested that it is a piece of a meteor that struck Russia before. But, scientists have a scientific explanation behind that. They think that the smoke coming out from the hole is not really smoke but CARBON MONOXIDE. It is a colorless, odorless and poisonous gas that is very dangerous to animals and humans.2. CAUCASUS MOUNTAINS
-On August 17, 1978, a group of mountaineers climbed a mountain. The weather is not good during that time. At evening, they pitched their tent. At two o'clock in the morning, Vladimir Karunenko (one of the mountaineers) saw a mysterious fireball scorching their skin like a welding torch. They were also paralyzed and some lost their consciousness. After the fireball had vanished, they noticed one of the mountaineers is dead because of the burns he had in his skin. They called for rescue and then, the rescuers came. There are also scientific theories scientists formed. The first theory is a lightning struck the ground and sent out pieces of soil being thrown away and the rocks became balls of plasma. The second and the last theory is that it is just an optical illusion or imagination but it is not likely, because the mountaineers had REAL burns in their skin.3. THE STRIGOI
-On April 4, 1970 in Bucharest, Romania, Ion Rimaru smashed an individual's head with a hammer. Some Romanians suggest that the Strigoi is somehow related to the crime. The Strigoi is a Romanian folklore believed to be an energetic power instead of a concrete creature that possesses someone and can be passed from a generation to another. Florea Rimaru, father of Ion, has fingerprints similar to murderers back in 1944. Therefore, the Strigoi was passed from Florea to Ion. It is also believed to be related with the Black Death. A Strigoi can be killed by pushing a wooden spade against a corpse believed to be possessed by Strigoi and some garlic.4. BEAST IN CAUCASUS MOUNTAINS
-A man saw a black beast covered with hair in the Caucasus Mountains. Another man saw a mysterious letter in August 1955. The bear-like creature killed a shepherd and also saw human-like footprints. A man also had a close encounter with the beast, just five footsteps away from him. In 1979, a woman saw a footprint and a piece of flesh and skin. Scientists believe that it is a human diagnosed with hypotriccosis, a disease wherein a human body is fully covered with hair.5. RUSSIAN ARCHIVES
-Researchers saw a medical experiment to raise the dead by transplanting organs. They tried it on a dog and successfully made him alive but after a few hours, died. They also tried it on a dead person. After they had transplanted the heart, the person's mouth became full of saliva of the person which means he's alive. The nurses ran away of the room. But after a few minutes, the person was also declared dead. That's all I can share for now, readers!
