I stare out the window quietly as I patiently wait for the bell to ring to wrap up my day. The last couple of days have been decent. Getting familiar with the school and teachers learning a little more about our neighborhood. I have made no progress in talking to people or getting to know them. Keeping to myself and the girls is all I really care to do in all honesty. Trying to get through this year without any sudden problems is my goal, but I can't say I have made no progress. The guys we met on the first day of school, Kevin, seems to be pretty nice. Like he says, we have a good amount of classes together, so I'm seeing him more and more. Who knows, if I get comfortable enough, we might even become friends.
The bell wrang and I pick up my books and packing my bag. I waited for the rush of students to make their way out of the classroom before I exited myself. Dodging my way through the hallways to get to our meeting location, I see Cynthia and Gabby leaning against my locker. After our sudden meeting with Kevin on Tuesday and me bumping into those guys during lunch, Gabby and Cynthia have tried to squeeze juicy gossip out of me, but they weren't successful.
"Hi love, how was class?" I shrugged my shoulders and opened my locker as the girls waited for me to pack my bag and grab my things. "Normal, nothing out of the ordinary." Cynthia frowns as we make our way down the hall. "Well, geez, that sucks. I got nothing happening on my side, either. Don't tell me this is it? From now on, everything's just going to be all plain and boring."
I chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "Well, what do you expect? Thats the whole reason we came here." She visibly sighed. "I want at least some excitement. I need to be entertained."
"And the classroom lectures aren't doing that for you." Gabby chimed in. Cyn playfully glared at her. "Well, on my way to the bathroom during the fifth period, I saw that guy you were talking about from the auditorium with his other friends goofing around along the hallways. Does that help you?"
Cynthia gasped. "What were they doing? Did you talk to them?" I shook my head. "No way, just went straight to the bathroom and when I came out, they were gone." I shrugged. She frowned, which caused Gabs and me to laugh. I hugged her arm to comfort her. "Don't worry, things will turn around. Drama and excitement follow you wherever you go."
"I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or insult." Cynthia pouted.
We all chuckled as I suddenly made eye contact with clear blue eyes. Gasping quietly, I averted my eyes, but the girls already noticed. "What?" Gabby shrieked and looked around dramatically.
"What happened, April?" Cynthia's eyes bulged, but I tried not to look alarmed as the rest of them did. I laughed and then fanned them all down. "It's okay guys. It's nothing that alarming." I chuckled and pointed to the doors, where four tall guys were leaning against the pillars.
"See..." I whispered, and my grip tightened on Cynthia's arm.
"Wow. They were hot when we saw them in the auditorium, but they are even sexier up close."
"For real," Gabrielle said.
Cynthia and I looked at each other with surprise, then turned around and then stared at Gabrielle. Gabby looked at us and raised an eyebrow. "What? You never heard a girl say a boy was nice looking?" She asked, her hand on her hip.
"Yeah," Cynthia said. "We have, but we never thought that it would be you saying it." Gabrielle rolled her eyes as we all started laughing. I averted my eyes again as I noticed someone looked at us. He smiled and, after telling his friends that he would be gone for a quick minute, jogged down the steps towards us.
"Hi." He breathed and smiled at me. I couldn't help but smile back awkwardly. His blonde hair combed back and his eyes clear as day. Why did he come over to me? "Hi." He tilts his head and then looks at Cynthia and Gabrielle. "I see you found who you were looking for."
