yixing stared at the diamond carved into a dagger, and their was a tinged of red as if the diamond have another element inside it.

"a spike?" yixing mumbled as he thought that it was usually a wooden instrument carved like a huge nail which was used to kill vampires. "are you telling me to kill anyone in your clan whenever something happens to me?"

Chanyeol chuckled making yixing more confused... since what he just said was the most obvious thing that chanyeol wanted him to do but his large eared mate grew serious and told him"no... i am telling you to kill me."

Yixing blinked twice before shaking his head and scooted away fists holding on the bed sheets. "idiot! you are going to kill me too if you got killed."

"i knew you would say that." Chanyeol grinned as he held on yixing's wrist causing him to calm down.

Chanyeol's eyes were undeniably hipnotizing... yixing couldn't stop staring at them "then why tell me that i should kill you??"

"if i can't protect you then i just violated my purpose, unlike any other spike that kill both mates at once... this can give freedom to the unharmed mate... once this shot my heart, you'll be free again to imprint... a new fate for you... a new life for you..." chanyeol explains while both of them stared at the spike slowly chanyeol made yixing touch it.

"i do not understand." Yixing said as he pushed it back to chanyeol and it was sharp... he was also afraid of getting himself cut. "I mean, it's impossible yeol. It's just a..." yixung couldn't formulate words and just looked away "spike"

"It's not just any weapon... this spike, was once used for vampire weddings for taking blood oaths to be exact. and during divorce, paper is not enough to cut off the marriage. one should die to give the other half some freedom" chanyeol explained again this time yixing understood but he couldn't understand why would chanyeol let him use it.

"why do you have this?" this was all yixing could formulate in his mind to ask his beloved mate... actually he doesn't have any other words to ask or tell him. he was just so confused.

chanyeol sighed as yixing anticipated for his answer. Chanyeol stared at the spike again while he spoke "Well, as an illegitimate son of the first priest who did weddings before. My father and my mother was killed by my mother's legal husband. But due to his love for my mother, he took care of me but we had to move in a new city and kept our identity's as a secret. he gave me this so if ever the same happens to me, i could be free like he was." chanyeol was surprised that yixing was listening attentively without any hesitations.

"Yeol i'm so sorry... and i could never do that to you." yixing quickly said as chanyeol set his eyes on him pecking chanyeol's sweet lips.

chanyeol grinned and pinch his mate's cheek and pulled him closer "It's okay... and i know you won't... but take it yixing." chanyeol took yixing's hand and placed the spike in his mate's hand.

"I can't..." yixing pushed it once again and pulled chanyeol's face close to his as he said "i know i can never kill you."

chanyeol pushed it back and made yixing held on to it tightly "Then keep it as my gift to you that will remind you that i will take care of you no matter what happens to you..." chanyeol sighed "and if i fail..." kissed yixing's forehead before saying "i should be killed." yixing already had tears welling up in his eyes

"But i can't..." yixing was trying not to sob... and held his tears back as hard as he could as he started to tell chanyeol "I love y..."

but before yixing could let his tears fall and tell whatever he has to tell chanyeol the dramatic scene was broken when they heard "I will be happy to that for you... killing you without harming lay would be such an honor." it was the voice of the alpha ruined the moment.

"Kai, you shouldn't be here." yixing said as he rubbed his eyes to wipe off the tears in his eyes.

"Kai... get out of here... Now." minseok came in running again.

"No!" kai yelled making minseok cross his arms and sighed in annoyance.

"I'm sorry yixing... i'm sorry that my arrogant PUPPY had his ears to somewhere he shouldn't" minseok said making kai growl a little louder.

"Minseok! I told you to never call me that." kai growled making chanyeol and yixing held on yixing closer to each other.

"Kai... i thought you are not going to listen to whatever he has to say?" minseok asked in a such annoyed tone.

"Well, the topic of killing him is pretty interesting... so i NEEDED to listen." kai moved closer to chanyeol and yixing as he stared at the diamond spike "That is one pretty Spike i have to admit yeol. Do you mind if i borrow it?"

"Chanyeol don't give it to him. he might..." yixing started but he stopped as he felt kai's glare piercing into him.

"Talking against your alpha?" kai said and look at chanyeol.

"I beg your pardon YOUR MAJESTY but this was supposed to be an exclusive conversation between mates." yixing told kai and the alpha couldn't believe that their hybrid had a little bit of courage inside him besides when he dances.

chanyeol took the spike in yixing's hands and started to stand up and gave it to kai without any hesitations "Yixing it's cool... i need to get his trust before i could have you for myself."

"Yeol, just please keep it... we don't need it." minseok told chanyeol and chanyeol ignored his fellow vampire.

"well, you don't but I do..." kai said as he held on to the spike and smirked while staring at it like a kid who just touched the coolest and most dangerous thing.

"you don't" yixing seconded what minseok just said cause, kai could kill anyone he pleases as long as it keeps his pack safe.

kai was observing how sharp it was and the pointy edge was promising. "and you said that it is used for blood oaths between weddings... does it work on other commitments...like a pledge of loyalty." kai asked chanyeol with a smirk.

"Well...i actually don't know." chanyeol's answer was actually ambiguous, he didn't know if the spike could do other commitments and he didn't know if he could take kai's offer for him to commit an oath for him.

"Minseok, can you get me the smart one from the demon couple here. I need to ask him something." kai asked as he played with the spike as if he killed another vampire.

"Fine whatever..." minseok said as he stepped out of the door and then peeked again "by the way I HATE YOU"

"I'm gonna fuck you until you love me again." kais said as if he and minseok were the only ones in the room.

"Shut your dirty mouth!" minseok yelled before he could get kyungsoo into yixing's room.

"You called kai?" kyungsoo entered the room with an annoyed look.

"Kyungsoo can you tell me about this spike?" kai showed kyungsoo the spike with a smirk of victory as he looked at kyungsoo's astonished face. the sight of it was so magical to the demon...

"It's mine by the way." chanyeol said as kai gave it to kyungsoo to examine it more.

"I thought there were none left." kyungsoo was so amazed you could see it in his eyes "This was used for blood oaths in vampire weddings and such ceremonies are no longer done since they thought it was useless since vampires started to become loyal to whoever they are knotted to." yixing smiled when he heard it

but then kai's voice made him stop smiling "We already know what it is for... what we wanted to know if it can also be used for other commitments" kai asked and kyungsoo was actually confused... otherwise, didn't know whether to tell him more or not

"Like what??? A pledge of loyalty?" kyungsoo asked while glancing at chanyeol and yixing.

kai took the spike as he smirked in victory while saying "Exactly"
