"WHAT THE ACTUAL FU-" I screamed until I realized that any human interaction I had with my mom needed to be put at a minimum. I stifle the rest of my scream and ran to the other side of my room.
I just sat there....Waiting...I couldn't move, speak, hell if felt like I couldn't breath. Out of nowhere there was slight movement under my covers, Jesus is that a human? Wait did I...NO I went to bed last night!!!
"What is going on....." said a moan from under my covers, ok well at least from that voice I know it's a male teenager so I can definitely defend myself. I chuckle at the image of me and my mystery bed man fighting silently to try and not wake my mom. And then for some ungodly reason I start laughing..Loud.
"What's funny?" says mystery man. Lu! It's not time for laughing.
"Ok, what are you doing here, and are you here to kill me?"
"Kill you-..Wait what am I doing here? How did I get here?" mystery man says as he sits up. He looks like a lump until I see his face and his shirtless body...Oh. Muscles. Ok. Well cool.
OH. MY. GOD.
"Hallway guy!! What are you doing here?!"
"Huh? Hallway Who? Who are you? I don't remember anything!"
"I don't know! Care to explain how you got into my bed in the middle of the night?"
"I already said I don't know. My name is Jacob Moore. I go to-"
"Willmoore Highschool" he and I both say at the same time. He looks over at me and the way his face changes I can tell he finally recognizes me. Please don't freak out. If my mom came in here while a boy was in here! Oh my goodness, my mom, school, life!
"Hey. Yes. I'm the girl who kicked in the hallway. So sorry about that. But I really need you to be going now. We are both already late for school and if my mom comes in while you're in here I'm screwed."
"Um. Yea. Of course. I guess we'll pretend this didn't happen then?" he says as he goes up and makes his way toward the middle of the room, unsure of how to exit.
I cross over to the bed and hand him his shirt careful to make eye contact because I can NOT be caught staring at stranger dude's biceps.
"Wouldn't want to forget this. And I don't know if I can forget this, especially since I know your name now" I said as I start moving towards the window. Sorry buddy, this is the only way. There's a tree to break your fall.
"How do you know my..Oh yea. Well I should at least know yours then." he says as he takes the hint and crosses over to the window. I open the latch and let it up and then stand to the side so he can make his descent.
He crosses over to the window and we both just stand there staring at each other in the mere morning sunlight. I think we stare so long that I can see the dust in the rays of sunlight. He looks so tired, I almost wish I could let him sleep longer. I look down at the arms that supposedly held me the entire night and realize how rested I feel. I think we both realize how insane it is that he is in my room after an entire night, but I don't think we have anything to say except goodbye.
"You are beautiful." He says and we both do a small intake of breath. There is a millisecond pause but by the time I can even think to say thank you he's on a tree and on the sidewalk.
I stand there pondering what just happened. It seems all I've done in my teenage life is wait for something to happen like it does in the books. And it did. This morning something happened, something from the books, something crazy.
