It was my first day of my sophomore. Last year was ultimately uneventful, I got average grades, had a couple friends -Kently and Christa-, no boyfriend but that wasn't a big deal. My name is Alina, and this year was going to be a whole lot more eventful.

I woke up just like any other day, went down stairs, ate breakfast, went back up stairs got dressed, and went outside to wait for Kently's mom to come pick me up for school. I always had to get rides to school from my friends, seeing as how my parents are never around and they refuse to get me a car. This morning was cold and sweet, the dew drops on the grass were sparkling from the rays of golden sun coming through the light blue and pink clouds in the sky. I sat down on the porch. The concrete steeps of my house were cold on the part of my legs that were not covered my the short jean capri I was wearing along with a green shit with a see through butterfly pattern on the back -I always loved this shirt cause it matched my eyes perfectly- which my shot dark brown hair just covered. I started to rub my legs to try and keep them warm. I picked up one of the books I had gotten from the library a couple days ago. It was one of those teen fiction books were a girl falls in love with some guy who isn't human and then falls in love with this other guy who also isn't human extra extra you probably know the rest. Normally I wouldn't even bother reading the back of one of these books but Christa insisted that I read this one. Christa is one of those people that just love love. She watches chick flicks like crazy and if she sees two people holding hands she will run after them to get a picture of it to post on her website. Christa has had the same boyfriend for about five years his name is Taylor. He is really nice and is our star quarterback on the schools foot ball team, he is really nice, and one of the few boys in the school who has more then just "ONE" thing. Just as I opened the book Kently's car pulled up and I pick up my stuff and got in. Kently was in the passenger set and I sat in the back behind her. She was wearing what a Kently normally wears a red graphic t-shirt and black skinny jeans with black leather boots. Her hair was long, strait, and red -dyed-, her eyes brown but almost black, her makeup same as always gray sparkling eye shadow and black eye liner.

"Hi Alina, are you excited about our sophomore year?" she asked me turning around with the biggest smile on her face.

"Um.....yeah I guess so, but last year was so boring. The most exciting thing that happened last year was that fight two boys got in last year over some girl."

"Speaking of guys guess who asked me out last night."

"Oh please tell me it's not that loser Josh with the big eye brows and gigantic thing he calls hair?"

Kently was a nice girl who's judgment was usually good, but when it came to guys she was ,how do I put this nicely, she chose these guys not by their brains, or looks, or good life choices. Not because she was shallow or anything but these guys just didn't have any of those things. So when it came to guys I wasn't expecting a prince charming.

"No its Domain Smith, you know him he's on the foot ball team with Taylor. He's really nice, and cute, and in the top of our class next to Christa."

"Wow you actually like a guy who is smart and cute. Then again we have two very different types of "cute guys" show me a picture."

She pulled out her phone and showed me a picture of a boy with ginger color hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a foot ball jersey with our school colors -green and black- on it with the number 14. I had seen him around school before and he seemed nice enough, and I had to admit he was pretty good looking. I gave an approving nod and that was that. We didn't speak the rest of the way there, instead we listened to music. When we got to school kids were going in from all directions, I noticed mostly all the kids going inside. When we got out of the car Christa ran over to us. She looked so happy and cheerful as usual, she was wearing a gold sweater that hung off her shoulders so she also wore a skin colored tank top under it, she had a pare of blue flair jeans, with her red shoes, and as usual she had on her deep brown eye shadow with black eye liner in a winged shape around her light blue eyes and golden jewelry around here neck with long strait blond hair to mach.
