Spencer's POV
As I peer down at my phone to take a glance at the time I can't help but feel my stomach churn at the possibility of another A text. 9:34PM. It's been three hours since we arrived at the hospital with Toby, three hours and he still hasn't woken up after he fell unconscious again on the drive here in the ambulance.
Still holding onto Toby's hand, I look up to see Caleb sat opposite me. I'm still unaware how he knew where Toby and I were, let alone why.
"Spence, why don't we go to cafeteria and grab something to eat?" I hear Caleb ask me; just as I'm about to refuse he adds "You look like you haven't eaten in days.." Since when did Caleb know how to read me so well.
Switching my glance back and forth between the two men in the room, I release Toby's hand and follow Caleb down to the cafeteria.

Once we had queued for a sandwich and coffee, Caleb begins to walk to a booth at the end of the cafeteria. Sliding into the seat opposite him, I roughly place the tray onto the table and quickly tie my hair up into a messy bun. Ripping the sandwich packaging open I begin to nibble at the triangle shaped sandwich as I notice Caleb following my every move.
"Aren't you going to eat as well?" I question covering my mouth which still contained small traces of food.
"Listen Spencer, I know you. You'll demand to stay in the hospital with Toby until the doctors discharge him, but thats not happening" Caleb somewhat commands me.
"I'm sorry, what?" I question, less focused on the food which was in front of me and more focused on the demands leaving Caleb's mouth.
"While Toby is in hospital we will be staying with my mum, she's already agreed to it and I've collected your belongings from the motel, you need a break from the drama" Caleb continues, unfazed from my confusion.
Still shocked from his plans, I nod gently and continue to eat my sandwich. Maybe Caleb is right, maybe I do need a break.

As Caleb holds open Toby's hospital room door I walk in to find a still unconscious Toby. Turning around to face Caleb, who has a small smile across his face, I ask the question I didn't think I'd ever ask.
"Can we leave now?"
I can't believe I'm leaving Toby right now, right when he needs me. But I need to do something for me, and I need a break.
Leaning forward, I kiss Toby's forehead softly and leave the room followed by Caleb.
