I wipe the sweat that has formed on my forehead and put my hands up.

"I'm done for the day, Gray."

"You sure, Sky?" He raises an eyebrow and I throw my bag over my shoulder.

"Let's go hunting." I whisper and his eyes widen.

"We'll get caught."

"No we won't, come on, please." I beg, secretly grabbing my quiver and my bow.

"Fine, let me go get a gun and some ammo. I'll meet you at your room." He says before jogging out.

In around thirty minutes, he's back and types in my pass code before walking in and I open my window, staring out into the fields that are gated by an electric fence.

"We can't get in there, Sky." Grayson groans in annoyance.

"Shut up, I do it all the time." I climb out, careful not to make too much sound or fall for if we get caught, we I will have spend a month in the 'box'.

The box is a large room with absolutely nothing in it, not even a bed, a bathroom, nothing but a 'lesson' taught by Hayes or Nash everyday. Only one person in this place has ever been in there and that was Hayes. Someone came in and attempted to teach him a lesson but he fought back. The guards liked his style and boom, he was the next boss. Others say he's the boss because of his dad. Chad Grier, the boss over everyone.

I'm not sure what's right and what's wrong.

"We won't be able to g-"

"Shut up" I inturrupt him, putting my face close to the fence.

When it's actually on, you can hear the buzz but when it's not on, it's silent. Most people don't stop to listen they just assume it's on.

"Come on, it's off." I whisper, climbing through.

I watch as he tosses his gun in and follows my actions.

"Hurry, they could see us from here."

We jog into the trees where we were safe and somewhat free.

"We could escape, you know. We could run out here and go out there." He points to the miles and miles of trees and trees.

"You know we can't. They'd find a way to keep us here in 21."

"They might not find us." He mutters.

"I hate it here, I wanna go back home to 20. We may have been poor and always scared that we'd get bombed unexpectedly but we weren't locked up and forced to be trained for fighting. I hate it. I'd rather be dead than be here on more day." I feel my eyes get watery at the memory of what happened back in 20.

"Stop getting emotional, Skylar, we're stuck here and we're not getting out." He speaks harshly mostly because I bring this up everytime we're together.

"I like to imagine escaping too but I never bring up my past and you shouldn't either. We were friends then and we're friends now. You're all I got." He speaks up again, his voice slightly cracking.

"Let's get back to hunti-"

"Put your weapons down now." A harsh voice crawls inside my ear and an arm grabs my wrists tightly.

"What do you think you're doing out here?"

I look over to Grayson who is on the ground and being hand cuffed by Nash, Hayes' older brother that is also a big deal in here.

"Answer me!" He tightens the grip on my wrists and screams in my ear.

"Hunting." I whisper.

"In taking her to the box." He puts cuffs on my wrists and pushes me back. "You're gonna have so much fun."
