I was in the car on our way to the hotel. The scenery was mainly fields of wheat and the occasional collapsing hut. My ‘precious’ brother was playing on his Nintendo DS, while my sister Shanon was listening to music. My parents in the front seat, were bickering on about directions. I took the slightly crumpled note out of my pocket. It looked like there was a note inside a note. The envelope read, to Erica Ebbsworth, while the 1st note inside read in big flowing letters, Dear Erica, We STRONGLY advise to only continue to read this letter while situated at home. Ebony school? I’d never heard of it. The fact that this ‘Mrs. Lengland’ knew my name scared me. I wondered what was so wrong with opening the letter while abroad…Tomorrow we were ending our vacation in Europe to return to Boston Massachusetts, my hometown.
