Late in the night. In a hospital. There rests an old lady in her bed. Breathing faintly as her daughter and grandson stood by her side.
The old lady was smiling as she held her daughters hand. The grandson was sobbing quietly to himself. The daughter was tearful and full of sadness.
Old lady: P-please dont be upset. Ill be in a better place after this.
Daughter: but i dont want you to go. I want my momma...
Old lady: hey hey hey... No need for words like that. Ill always be with you, you'll always have me. I promise. And time wont be so long. I promise. You'll both be with me in time.
The grandson was still quietly crying. The daughter had slightly chuckled but returned to being sad and crying. The grandma... She layed her head back and sighed.
Grandma: i... I think its my time. P-please... Promise me that you will live on and you will be fine.
Daughter: i... I promise... I love you.
Grandma: I... I love you, so much...
And with that, the grandma had gone silent. She sighed out a long breath. Her final breath. The heart monitor started to make a long drawn out beep. Signalling her being dead.
Staff members rushed into the room and started to process the old lady. A nurse stepped to the daughter and grandson. Asking if they would please leave. So they complied and left to the waiting room.
As they sat there, they had seen several military officals walking around the hospital. Even some cops. There was a loud noise deep in the tunnels of the hospital. From the room of the old lady. The grandson and daughter got up to leave the hospital. But officals standing outside the doors stopped them. Refusing to let them through.
The daughter was getting a little furious. She demanded she be let out. But they still refused her and her son. Behind them was a bed. Being pushed outside of the building.
There, laying on the table, was the old lady. She had a bloody covered patch on her forehead. Concealing the large hole behind it. She was dead. The daughter was shaken and started to cry harshly. The grandson had cried as well and went to his mother for comfort.
The military screamed for them to back up away from the door. The mother denied. So the guards took action and grabbed her by the arms. Forcing her back towards the waiting room. The son was terrified and ran away in fright. Hiding in a corner.
The guard simply scoffed and walked back. Holding his assault rifle in hand and looking out to the city of rising chaos. He looked over to his neighboring gaurd and softly spoke.
Guard 1: Hey, do you know what the date is?
Guard 2: Its October 14th. Why do you ask?
Guard 1: eh. Just curious.

Don sprinted down main street's in a panicked rush. There was a tired Arianna and Pheobe following along with wooden weaponry in hand. There was no one on the streets. No one on the highway as Don ran across.
The town was silent. There was a sort of smell in the air. It reeked. It was very pungent and with no determined source.
Don was 5 blocks from Ezekiels house. Just 5 blocks from a terror. Arianna and Pheobe struggled to keep up as they ran. Panting heavily and gasping as their lungs seemed to give out on them. Don just kept running...
