Lyria
As I walked through the garden, my fingers weaving through the twining roses and lilacs, I began to wonder about Rowan. I hadn't seen him for months, from what I'd heard he was off in Mistward teaching some half fae.
Ha! Bet he was enjoying that... Not!
Lost in thought, I soon realised that the sun had begun to set, turning the tops of the mountains in the distance a deep rosy colour, so I headed for the kitchen to see when dinner would be ready.
As I sat down to eat my dinner I heard the shouts of servants and elated voices sounding along the corridor. Spinning around I saw my beloved Rowan, I immediately felt a smile beginning to spread across my face... Until I saw a girl behind him.
"Rowan?"Aelin
"Rowan?" The dark haired woman said, as if she didn't realise who he was. Taking in her clothing and the way she looked at Rowan I guessed that she was Lyria... His mate.
"Lyria, this is Aelin..." Rowan answered, as if that answered all her questions on why a strange girl was in her house... Well, castle. Rolling my eyes and giving Rowan's shoulder a shove, I stepped forward and introduced myself... Properly.
" I'm Aelin, and you must be Lyria I was being trained by Rowan until I released him from Maeve's blood oath and came here."
'Yeah... That definitely answered all her questions didn't it Aelin '
'Still did better than you moron'
'Brat'
' Bastard'
'Little Shit'
'Heated Mess'
Rowan then almost started to chuckle and smirk at me, the heated mess...
"What the hell does 'Heated Mess' mean?"
"It's a mess where heat is applied and what was just a little messy is now really messy."
"Where do you even come up with all your bullshit?"
"Ahh it comes from all my wit, charm and good looks."
He didn't reply to that, instead he looked back at a very confused Lyria. I'd forgotten she was here.
"Lyria could you show Aelin to her room she can stay in the West Wing with us."
"Umm sure.." Looking at me she said "follow me it's just this way"
Whilst we walked down the corridors and hallways I memorised every twist and turn as well as properly looking at Lyria. She had brown hair and dark eyes, and wore a long flowing sunflower yellow dress with capped sleeves. She was rather plain, but, remembering what Rowan had told me she was after all a peasant. And she despised me, much to my delight, if it ever gets boring around here and Rowan goes all broody I can have some fun... Haha no I think Rowan would destroy me if I did!Lyria
She was beautiful. Absolutely stunning, and the way she and Rowan seemed to be in their own world having a private conversation just for them... She wasn't even a proper fæ for goodness sake! And what did she mean by, ' I released Rowan from Maeve's blood oath'? She couldn't have! We'd been searching for years for a way to release him from the blood oath, it can't be, unless she convinced Maeve to release him by choice... NO! Absolutely not! I refuse to believe it! I've lived for hundreds of years how could a mere mortal convince Maeve to do anything? Who does she think she is! And why was she staying in the west wing with us? Rowan didn't even trust my own sister to be in our wing. I'd just talk to him later about who she is, after we'd reacquainted ourselves...
I have taken some ideas from stories so I'm sorry if you think I've copied anything I've tried not to base a thing on one particular fanfic, I don't own any of these characters they all belong to the wonderful Sarah J MaasPlease tell me what you liked and what I need to work on and if you want me to write more.
