Sudden fall from my bed and my face hitting the floor in my bedroom woke me up, making me snap my eyes open and furiously look around the room. When I realized I just fell from my bed while sleeping, I let out a loud sigh and propped my hands on the floor so I could bring myself up.
I've fallen from my bed during the night three time this week, and today was only Friday. I should start leaving pillows around the floor just so I don't get bruises from constant bumping onto the hard floor.
I rummaged my hair with my fingers and took a hairband, putting my hair in a high ponytail, a hairstyle that screamed "Eva". There were rarely times when I had my hair down, I thought a high ponytail was good for sports, but also formal enough for things like weddings or parties. It just went well with everything, and my hair wasn't constantly getting in the way and annoying me.
There were times when I considered just cutting it short, but every time I took a pair of scissors and put them by the hairband ready to cut it all off, I just couldn't. My hair was too long and I took too much time taking care of it just so I'd cut it now, so I kept it.
Getting out of my sleeping shorts, I jogged downstairs and went into the kitchen, immediately opening the fridge and taking out some orange juice. I drank some from the bottle and put it back inside, jogging back upstairs so I could wash my face and brush my teeth.
I knew I was home alone because Luke was working the morning shift so I didn't bother putting on any pants.
When I was done with my hygiene, I went to my room and grabbed my phone that's been annoyingly ringing for a while now."Yo." I picked up, opening the door to my wardrobe and leaning on my hip as I examined the shelves carrying my clothes, already knowing I won't be able to decide on what to wear.
"Fruity Punch in 20?" My friend Kenzie asked with her chirpy voice and I already knew she was in a good mood this morning.
Fruity Punch was our name for a local store that sold the best fruit and veggies in the whole city. Kenzie and I used to go there and buy fruit salads, sometimes even a few times a day in order to... 'stay healthy'. Of course, afterwards we'd run to my place and stuff our mouth with chocolate and ice cream, but hey, the thought is what counts.
"Yup, see you." I confirmed and Kenzie hung up, me throwing my phone on my bed and taking a few pairs of shorts from the wardrobe. I debated on which pair I wanted to wear, and then I went for high waisted denim shorts. Then I put on my oversized Evanescence tee and jumped into my flip flops, taking my phone and wallet on my way out of my room.
When I came down into the kitchen, I turned on the stereo and put on my playlist, currently playing Iris by Goo Goo Dolls. It's been my jam for a while now so I turned the volume up until I couldn't hear myself singing and then I went to make some breakfast. I took two eggs and threw them in a pan as I danced around, rocking my head left and right with my eyes closed.
Damn, I love this song.
I was singing the lyrics to the course and took the eggs off the pan, putting them on a plate. Then I poured some water in a glass and danced my way to the living room, still moving in the rhythm of the next song that started playing. When I was done eating, I placed the plate in the dishwasher and left the house, ready to meet up with Kenzie.
Fruity Punch was about five minutes away from our house so I wasn't really in a hurry, but I still jogged my way there. There was something about walking that just made me feel bored, unless I had a pair of earphones that could entertain me.
I saw Kenzie sitting on a windowsill of a huge store window, her long, extremely curly brown hair being the first thing that drew my attention. Kenzie's motto has always been "The bigger the hair, the more they stare." She was one of those very confident girls, and I always envied her on that. She could put on the craziest looking pants and even crazier looking shirt and she'd pull it off. Heck, other girls would even start wearing it like that, too!
