Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart. Naught be all else to me, save that thou art. Thou my best thought by day, or by night. Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.
Caroline Wright followed the other southern states as they trudged their way through the forest. She had barely gotten any sleep the night before. Trying to keep herself awake and upright, she walked closer behind her younger brother.
Her vision blurred a bit. She knew she should've slept last night instead of insisting on keeping watch. A certain hymn came to mind.
"Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart..."she whispered.
In a few minutes, her vision seemed to get a little clearer. A wave of relief went over her. Who knew a hymn would help her?
