What is life, but just a game?
One that you may never win.
Nothing more than a chance;
Your chance to take a stand.
We all aim for the top;
To miss the moon
And be immortalized
Among the stars.
We've climbed the ladder
And the game is over
And you see the credits rolling
But there was never any victory.
What is life, but a simple lesson?
All to prepare you for the end.
To make you smarter, tougher, better
Until your talents go to waste.
In the end, we were only
Helping the future that too will die
Just a chain of everything,
That leads to nothing.
But you will learn.
And learning becomes knowing.
And you will be gone
Taking all your knowledge with you.
What is life, but a shining gem?
A value taken for granted.
Traded and given away
For far less than what it's worth.
A penny traded for a diamond
A greed so strong,
It takes a soul to fill the cost
And the body was never wanted.
A life traded is worse
Than trading identical rubies
Because the red gems
Can both be given back.
What is life, but an obstacle course?
Where only one obstacle exists.
But this obstacle
Appears in many forms.
What is death,
But the one obstacle
A finish line that always returns
And it can be avoided
It can be dodged.
Except for the very last one.
And we have no choice
But to cross it
What is life, but a broken dream?
Unavoidable, but not always wanted.
An abrupt ending,
So much left undone.
They say that life's too short.
But living is
The longest thing
That you will ever do.
Why would you let it go to waste?
When there's so much you can do
To make the world a better place.
For those who've yet to open their eyes.
