Sandy woke up to another cold sweat. Her hair was sticking to her neck and her body felt stiff and fatigued. She threw the blanket off her and checked the time. 3:55 am. She let out a sigh and figured that since she was awake anyway, she might as well start the day early.

Sandy stepped in the shower and turned the hot water up just a little before it gets nearly scalding enough. She needed to gather her thoughts and hot showers usually got her body and mind to relax. This was the third time in a row when she woke up in the middle of the night caught in a cold sweat. Although, she was quite lucky tonight because she had over 4 hours of sleep before she saw his haunting blue eyes again.

It was always the same dream that kept her awake at night.

“I’m sorry Sandy but I don’t think I’d be the best choice for you.”

And it was the same words she never wanted to hear ever again.

She wasn’t usually like this. It all began when she saw his face on the television a few weeks ago and it triggered so many memories and emotions from her. That’s why she always busied herself lately with work, chores and friends. She didn’t want idle time in her hands because she was scared to think about it again but mostly, she was scared to think of him.

“Goood mooorning Saaandy!” Sophia greeted in a high singsong voice. Sandy stifled a laugh and greeted her back.

“You made breakfast… again. How long have you been awake?” She asked with a certain concern in her voice. She was worried that Sandy was having sleeping problems again.

“Uhm just about an hour ago I think?” Sandy lied. It was already 6:45 am in the kitchen clock and she cooked breakfast around two hours ago. Sophia looked at her skeptically and raised one of her eyebrows. Sandy then gave in and said, “Alright fine I woke up around 4 am okay? I couldn’t sleep. It was the dream again and-“

“Shhh it’s okay Sandy. You don’t have to explain. Can I give you advice though?” Sophia gave her a hopeful look and she nodded.

“You have to get over him soon enough. This whole insomniac thing is getting unhealthy-“

“I am over him, Sophia! It’s just that I saw him on TV and I got so proud then sad and mad and I don’t even know how to feel anymore! I haven’t seen him in like 5 years and then the next thing I know, he joined some contest and now, he’s freaking famous…”

“Let me get this straight, you told me that you’re over him is that correct?” Sophia paused and Sandy nodded. “Then you saw him on TV and you got all crazy-“

“I DID NOT GET ALL CRAZY.” Sandy cut her off and she just smirked in reply.

“Why are you so defensive then? Are you sure you’re over him or you’re just telling yourself that?” Sophia glanced at her knowingly and started to dig in breakfast. Sandy let out a sigh and she was starting to hate her friend not because she’s prying in her life but because she was afraid that Sophia might be right.

Was she really over Louis or was she just telling herself that?

Sandy spaced out for almost half an hour before she realized that she was going to be late for work. She ran to her room and changed into her work clothes before grabbing her training bag and letting her hair down. Her dark brown hair flew with the wind as she fled back down the stairs.

“Sophia! I’m going to work now!” Sandy called out and grabbed her car keys that were hung on a nail by the door.

“Okay and don’t forget we’re going to O’Connell’s Pub tonight to meet up with the girls!” Sophia replied from the kitchen.
