LOUIS' POV
I don't know why i agreed to go to a pub with Eleanor and a bunch of her friends whose names I couldn't remember. Hell, I don't even know why we're in LA in the first place! I only have 3 weeks of break before we start tour again and I could be spending it right now in Doncaster but no- El just had to drag me here.
"Come on babe. Dance with me," Eleanor prodded me but I dismissed her with a shrug before taking a long drink on my beer. She huffed and danced with her friends instead.
I knew I was acting like a dick but come on. I just feel so suffocated. It wasn't that El was a bitch- trust me she's nice and lovely but the past few months of our relationship has been like hell. Our personalities started clashing against each other, we barely talk and see each other and phone calls just aren't the same. I thought that this trip to LA would be a good chance to mend our relationship but it's just not working out. She used to make me so happy but now she makes me want to get away fom her.
I guess we're just starting to grow apart.
I brought the bottle of beer to my mouth to take a drink only to find out that it was empty. I walked over to the bar and looked around to find El to ask if she wanted a drink but she's still dancing with her friends.
As I took a seat on the bar stool, I couldn't help but notice a couple snogging at the end. The couple actually looked oddly familiar but i can't figure out where I've seen them. The girl had her back to me so I couldn't see her face but her dark brown hair just looks so familiar.
I know I've seen her before but I just can't point out when and where.
"What can I get for you, blue eyes?" A bartender in her mid-thirties asked me for my order and eventually put my thoughts to a stop. She jotted down my order as she went around the back to get me my Corona. I muttered a thank you and began thinking about the brown-haired girl again.
It must be some fan from a concert we've done before. I mean, we meet hundreds of girls everyday so they're starting to look all the same to me.
It's actually amazing how no one in this pub has recognized me yet. People usually swarm over us when we're in a public place- not that I want people to swarm over me right now. I think I'd like to be alone with my thoughts for a little while.
"Hey blue eyes," The bartender called out again. "Some brunette is staring at you like she wants to kill you. Ex-girlfriend maybe? She laughed to herself as I searched for the brunette.
'Nope never seen her before. Must be some One Direction fan' I thought to myself so I flashed her a small smile but she didn't return it. Instead, she looked at me wide-eyed and began looking around for someone frantically. I watched her approach the couple snogging at the end of the bar and the girl turned her head.
Brown hair.
Green eyes.
Sandy.
Sandy looked at me as if I was a ghost. God, she looks more amazing than ever. Those 5 years treated her well, yeah?
But shit- who is that loser next to her?
Confusion hits me as I return my gaze to Sandy again. She's sporting the same expression as her friend earlier. She looks frantic. I don't understand. Doesn't she remember me? Doesn't she miss me?
I made my way towards her and guess what.
She ran away from me.
You have got to be kidding me. She just ran away after 5 years of not seeing each other? I tried calling her for 3 days straight right after she left for America hoping that someday, the number that her mum left me would start working but no, it just never happened. Every time Icalled, the operator would say that the number I dialed wasn't registered.
She's the one who left me with a fake number. Not being able to contact her all these years wasn't exactly my fault. Besides, she had my number right?
But I shouldn't have given up that easily.
"Lou," Eleanor was looking at me with a worried expression. I was actually hoping that it would be Sandy who was calling my name but damn it.
"You've been distant all night... and you're clutching your beer with a death grip-" "
"I'm fine." I cut her off. I didn't even realize that I was gripping my beer. I just shook my head and muttered "I'm going to use the loo." I walked away and didn't even bother to look back at El.
Thats when I saw him. The guy who was snogging Sandy at the bar was waiting outside the ladies' room.
I sent him adeath glare but he was way too oblivious to the world as he kept knocking on the door. He was calling out Sandy's name.
There was no response from the inside so I walked past her snogging buddy and pressed my head against the door.
"Boo bear?" I called out.
I heard her shuffling around through the door and the music was just not loud enough for me not to hear her.
Her tosser of a snogging buddy just looked at me in surprise and raised an eyebrow at me. I stepped away from the door and he rolled his eyes at me.
Whoa man. What the hell is your problem?
Just when I was about to beat the shit out of the tosser, the door clicked and revealed a puffy red-nose Sandy. I wanted to wrap my arms around her and tell her everything is going to be fine but she ran to the tosser and hugged him tightly.
I heard her whisper the name "Nathan." Oh so his name is Nathan aye? Well excuse me, Nathan but I believe I should be the one comforting Sandy now not you.
Nathan the tosser.
Screw you.
