The sounds of birds woke me up this morning. I didn't want to get out of bed, leaning over to check my alarm, I see that it's only 6:30. I knew falling back asleep was impossible. The sun was out and when the sun is out I'm up. I rolled out of bed and looked around my room. It was bare, depressing, and filled with boxes and luggage that I had to load into the moving van today. You see, I'm moving to Louisiana. My dad had lost his job because his company was bought out by someone else. He found a new job for a company in Louisiana and of course the whole family has to pack up and move. I don't want to move, it's my senior year and I have so many friends!
I go into my bathroom and take a long hot shower then change into my clothes, doing my hair and makeup, the daily routine. I can hear my parents chatting in the kitchen as I make my way down there to get a cup of coffee.
"good morning dear aren't you up a little early?" asked my mother, Paula.
"yeah." was all I said.
About ten minutes later my little sister comes down the stairs. She looked like she had just touched an electrical fence, overly frizzy hair. She didn't say anything throughout breakfast and when we were putting the rest of our things in the moving van. The whole drive down to Louisiana was torture. My sister, Julia, wouldn't shut up about how her life is over and how she will never be the same and blah blah blah. Don't get me wrong I felt that way too but I knew complaining about it was pointless. After what I thought was the most torturous ride ever we finally reach our new home. It was beautiful, white siding, mid-sized Victorian home with a huge yard and pond in the back. I jumped out of the dodge ram and grabbed my luggage from the back. I brought it inside and quickly went up the stairs to find my room. I knew it was mine as soon as I walked in, light pink walls white furniture, the new bedding I picked out a few weeks ago. It was perfect!
I noticed two doors off to the right. Behind one door was my walk in closet. Behind the other door was my own bathroom. This house was perfect. But it wasn't in Ohio. I already miss all my friends so much! I hope I can some new ones soon, or my senior year isn't going to be great at all.
