"Could you read me a book?" I asked after you turned the lights off. "It helps me fall asleep."
Your footsteps got closer as you pulled out a chair and sat next to me. "Sure. What do you want me to read?"
"The Little Mermaid."
"Little Mermaid, huh?" I could almost hear your lips curl into a smile. "That's cute. Now close your eyes."
I closed my eyes and listened.
"A long, long time ago, in the beautiful ocean, there was a kingdom..."
I slept like a baby that night.
