Graduation day!!
Our gym looks so good! Red and Black all around and chairs saved for each family. Unfortunately their aren't enough for Jacob to sit with me. My parents didn't want him to anyway.
"Babe, it looks so good" Jacob says as he comes behind me.
"Jacob, stop. I don't wanna get in trouble."
"Your 18, and graduating. It shouldn't matter anymore."
"I don't want you to risk your license."
"Ok. I'll be careful!!" He walks away.
I go home to get ready.
I get a text message 'I have the hotel holding a reservation for your graduation party/ engagement announcement.'
'Thanks baby! I love you and I will see you tonight!'
I continue to do my makeup and put on my dress for graduation.
I recite my speech over and over again.... Valedictorian is not always fun. This speech business is not always a ton of fun.
I slide on my turquoise converse that match my dress and then I curl my hair. Placing my crown on top of my hair.
Madison calls me.
"Are you wearing heels for graduation??"
"No. I'm wearing converse!"
"Ok. I'll let you know. Just had to make sure and didn't have time to text."
"Bye"
"Bye" she says.
I text Jacob and I tell him to come outside.
He responds quickly and I meet him there. I give him my bag for our stay at the hotel and then I go to the gym.
I am the first person at the gym, and we're supposed to do a walk through in 20 minutes. Next to show up is Madison. Quickly after that, people pile in quickly. Soon enough, our entire senior class is at the gym.
"Alright, lets do the run through." our advisor says.
The run through took an hour, without the speeches. Families and Friends fill into the gym and we go 'hide' in the weight room. Twenty minutes later, we hear Pomp and Circumstance and we walk down the paper trail we made to the stage. The principle has the first speech, then the honored speakers and the valedictorian speech.
I walk up to the podium and look out among the crowd. My parents and Grandparents and even my great-grandfather is sitting in the front row. Jacob is sitting up in the blechers, and his smile is etravagent. I begin my speech.
"I can remember sitting in my 1st period class freshman year, awaiting the moment that I would walk across this stage. And I am sure that everybody else here feels the same way, but for me, it went faster then I expected. Four years went by in the blink of an eye. Between sports, extraciriculars and more, I've learned how to cope with stress, deal with difficult coworkers and had the time of my life with all of my friends. Speaking just for myself, With the help from the Black Eyed Peas, I have had the time of my life, and I owe it all to all of you! Thank you for four fabulous years and great times to come within the future. Now, lets have some fun before we hit the real world!" I say and laugh at the last part with the rest of the crowd and I look up one more time and Jacob is standing in the crowd, with a smile that I could not expect to get any bigger.
The slide show plays soon after that and then we receed back up the aisle. Finding my parents afterward, and Jacob as well, We head up to the hotel. I have already introduced Jacob to one set of my grandparents, but not to others. I am definetly not looking forward to that, considering that he is six years and 9 months older than me. My grandparents are super christian and will most likely disapprove of us because of age.
Pulling up to the hotel, Jacob already has our room booked, and he waits for me outside the doors. I walk up to him and he wraps his arms around me.
"Babe, I am so proud of you, that speech was amazing and inspiring. I loved the Black Eyed Peas lyrics." We walk through the doors and into the big room where our party is.
"Thanks, I was listening to them while I was writing and thinking about this speech, and I was inspired. I was also channeling you, because I know that you love the Black Eyed Peas and I wanted to have a little piece of you in my speech as a tribute. You are the one." I say. People begin to come into the room, and I take off my cap and gown. Jacob and I are seated at a table next to the window and as I look out it, I see the freeway, and see our future.
"Jacob, are you ready?" Looking around the room at my many many family members, and the weird/gross looks that are being presented towards Jacob. The set of grandparents that know Jacob, come over to us.
"So, how long have you guys been together now?" My grandmother asks.
"A year... and a few days." I begin to say and Jacob finishes my sentence.
"Wow, they are finishing each others sentences." My other grandmother says. "Who exactly is this?"
" Grandma, this is Jacob." I say. I look up at him and he nods at me.
Jacob and I stand up and everybody is looking at us. I say, "Hello everybody, Thank you for al being here. All of you were here for the graduation party, and you are; but you are also here for an engagment party. This is Jacob, We've been together for a little over a year and of two days ago are officially engaged."
Clapping is going throughout the room and cheering is as well. Jacobs parents are there, but all the teacher that were invited are supposed to come later.
The partying actuall begins now, Dancing, chattting and food is being brought around on trays. All the teachers show up about an hour after we announce and I get congratulations from all of them.
The party eventually dies down and Jacob and I, Our parents and siblings, all go to their assigned hotel rooms. Jacob booked him and I the Presidential Suite. We walk into it and it's huge!! There is a giant jet tub, a king size bed and a bathroom the size of Jacob's bedroom alone.
"What are we doing tomorrow? Can we just spend the entire day in bed?"
"We just have to have breakfest with family. I paid for multiple days, suspecting that all you would want to do would be in the tub and or in bed."
"This is why I love you, you beautiful beatiful man. I am going to get into that giagantic tub, and in 15 minutes, come join me." I walk into the bathroom.
I turn the water on, and grab the body wash/ bubble bath from my consmetic bag. Then, I take off my clothes and put on my bathrob. My hair is thrown up into a messy bun and I open the door.
"Babe, you can come in here now." I close the door and slide into the warm water. My boobs are completely covered, and only my knees are showing out of the water. Jacob walks in and takes off his clothes. He slides in behind me and I lay down against my chest.
"Jacob, I love you." I say to him.
"I love you too baby. I am so glad you said yes to my proposal. I am so proud of my fiance, your an extrodinary women and I would follow you anywhere."
We lay in the bathtub for hours. I'm pretty sure that I fell asleep a couple times and Jacob had to wake me up, so he didn't fall asleep either. After about 3 hours or so, and a lot f cold water, we get out.
Its about 10:00 p.m. and we get ready for bed. Actually needing sleep this night, we fall asleep after only a few minutes of snuggling and just laying down.
