Leo's POV

"See?" Piper acknowledges me. "This won't be so hard. Just tell me."

I take a deep breath and shakily let it out, pressing my wrists against the cuffs trying to control my emotions.

"When I-" I start, but someone with black hair comes in and interrupts me.

"Piper we need you now." A man with black hair says quickly.

"Percy, can't you see-"

"Now Piper!" He shouts and then runs off.

"What's wrong?" Piper asks annoyed and I shrug not seeming to care, though I'm greatly relieved.

"Ugh." She groans and slams the file on the table and rushes out, loudly closing the door behind her.

I sit there for a moment, then my eyes to go the one way glass.

If there are people on the other side, they can see me.

I shift my position, the hand cuffs moving to a less painful setting.

With my shoulder, I wave to the glass.

Then my eyes go to the file. The air seems to get thinner and I glance back at the glass.

No one may be behind that glass. I could be unsupervised for a few moments.

Maybe they're all somewhere else. Maybe I'm not being watched.

Maybe.

I stare greedily at the folder. I need to know what's in there. I need to know who killed her.

Keeping my eyes on the glass, I softly kick the table. Expecting officers to instantly pile in, I wince.

But no one comes.

I stare at the door, but I have no company but silence.

Kicking the table harder, I hear it screeching across the floor; still no guard. I pull it closer with my foot and then kick it harder than before, and the file moves to the edge.

"Come on, Leo." I mutter to myself and curse at myself to hurry up.

I kick at the wooden table one last time and hope fills me when the file falls to the floor.

I vaguely hear shouting and yelling from outside, but I mostly just hear my heartbeat fast paced.

My chair cries out as I harshly pull it a foot of two forward, then reach my foot and barely touch the file.

"Aha!" I say incredibly joyful as I fully have my foot on top of the file.

Just then the door swings open and Piper stares incredulously at me.

I quickly bring my foot to me and the file tumbles clumsily open.

"Don't!" Piper shrieks, but it's too late.

I see the file.

No, I'm sorry, let me reword that.

I see the blank papers.

The blank.

Papers.

My hands clench into fists and I close my eyes, attempting to remain calm.

"I'm never..." She starts off. "I'm never going to get you to trust me again...am I?"

"I'm going to give you enough credit to figure that out yourself." Leo rolls his eyes more frustrated at himself for believing her. So foolish, such an amateur move.

"Okay well look." Piper glances at the file, her eyes searching the air for a solution.

"It's either give us this information and rot in a prison cell for the rest of your life. Or rot in a prison cell for the rest of your life. If you give us this information I promise I will get you a better cell than the original-"

"I don't care about what cell I'm in."

Her eyes flicker to me and sees all the well controlled anger and panic in my eyes, and she backs off.

"I don't care if there's no windows. I don't care if I have to share it with some smelly old dude. I don't care if I have a death penalty. I only cared about one thing, and apparently," I gesture to the papers.

"Apparently you don't have it."

Her eyes flash angrily. I suppose me not caring wasn't part of the plan.

"Well you deserve it don't you?" She says annoyed. "You killed. You murdered all of those people. You killed Luke you killed Nico you killed Reyna-"

"No." I barely whisper.

My eyes stay fixed on a rip in my jeans, but the young woman hesitates almost shocked.

"What did you say?" She asks.

"I said," My voice is shaky. "I didn't kill all those people."

After a moment I hear a hearty laugh full the room and Piper looks at me smiling. "You do understand we have all evidence pointing to you. Open and shut case."

"I did kill people, alright?" I reply, frustrated. "I have murdered, but most of those people I didn't.."

"Didn't what?" She persisted.

The answer is on the tip of my tounge. I have the one answer that could perhaps take away my death penalty. Maybe not be put in jail for life.

The answer that could get them to search for the real bad guy.

I shake my head and push my thoughts away. "No. Nothing. Nevermind."

I can't ever tell them anything. That wasn't part of the plan. I need to be in jail for life. Or else...someone gets hurt.

"Leo." Piper stares into my eyes but I look at the ceiling. "You do understand whatever information you may have concerning your case, is necessary for us to know."

I clench my jaw and force myself to look into her eyes.

"There's no other information. I'm confessing to everything. I killed all those people. Either give me a death penalty or put me in jail for life. Now if you don't mind, I'm a bit tired I'd like to rest in my cell."

Piper look like she's about to argue but doesn't bother. "Fine."

She motions for the guard's to take me away and they both take my arms.

I'm taken out of the room and I see a short girl with frizzy hair studying me. Something close to confusion in her eyes.

I flash her a smile, not really caring what she's thinking and the guard's pull me into a back room where all the cells are.

My smile drops as soon as I'm pulled away and I think to myself, What did I get myself into?
