Black Tiger: Followers.

We watch her walk off and I sigh as I watch her leave me. Somehow, it didn't feel right. Bain walks over to the dumpster and picks up Hellfire and hands it to me. I nod silently in thanks, still eyeing her. Bain raises an eyebrow as he looks at me in a questioning manner. We stand there in silence for a little while. He finally glances at me.

"So are you planning to tell me what your relationship is with her?" He asks me quietly but slowly. I shrug.

"There is no relationship between us," I say blandly. He smirks, knowing that I am not actually telling the truth. I sigh.

"You don't have to tell me," he says honestly but I know that he is just saying that. He expects me to tell him.

"It happened a long time ago," I mumble softly. He urges me to say more. "She saved my life a while back. You could say that she's my guardian angel. Always coming in the nick of time..." I trail off.

He looks at me in surprise. However, he does not question me further. He simply just takes a deep breath and asks me where we should go next. Without a second doubt, I already decide where to go.

"Canta," I say. I need to see her again and talk to her and I realize that Bain understands this as well, after he nods and leads us both out of the alley and to our dented SUV. We both get into the car and just sit there, as we both bring our thoughts together.

"So..." we both start. We look at each other. We automatically decide that I go first.

"Canta then?" I ask. "You're okay with that?" He nods.

"That's fine with me. You want to talk to her, don't you?" He asks me back. I briskly nod. He sits there thinking more as I watch him carefully and he finally nods. He starts the car and we start the fifteen minute drive to Canta.

Midnight Wolf: A Wonderful Welcome to Canta.

I call for a taxi and soon one comes. After all, what man would keep a beautiful woman waiting? A Mexican taxi driver comes up in front of us and rolls down a window.

"You need a ride miss?" He asks me with an extremely heavy Hispanic accent.

"Yes, please, thank you," I say in a steady voice. He gives me a toothy smile.

"Come in, come in!" He tells me, waving me over.

I get in and look at him, analyzing him as I usually do with people. /Creepy Mexican guy, DS: 3. Just be alert./ I note.

As we start driving, he pulls out a cigarette and starts to light it. I grimace.

"Please put that out," I say angrily, slightly agitated by his bothersome demeanor. He looks in his rearview mirror at me.

"No can do, Miss, I am quite addicted to cigarettes," he says and I blink. How dare he say such a thing to me!

"I said to put it out, damn it!" I practically yell, as we near closer to Canta. I am not in a good mood, nor did I feel like dealing with him. He pretends to not hear me, however, and chooses to ignore me.

I take Donovan's small tranquilizer gun and Donovan looks at me meekly, curious as to what I was going to do but not provoking me. I wave the tranquilizer gun and he notices it in the mirror of his. His eyes considerably widen and I smile, distasteful. He throws the cigarette out of his open window and I nod in thanks.

He soon takes me to the desired location, which was right in front of the largest skycraper in the city. It belongs to Bastion. The money counter calculates and shows that I owe him $89.34. I give him a $50 bill and open the car door out.

"Miss, you have not given me enough!" He shouts. This time, he is the angry one. I shrug.

"You might want to get that money counter fixed, because $89.34 is not the right amount. I was counting the number of miles, buddy," I tell him, glaring. He opens his mouth and then closes it, having nothing to say. Because what I said was true.

I haul Donovan out of the taxi and the tiny yellow car speeds away as soon as his feet touch the ground and leave the backseat of the car. I frown. He did not even give me any change. Shrugging, we both walk to the building and he looks up and up and up. All the way to the 144th floor; which was the top floor.

"Ready, Donovan?" I ask in a loud, clear voice. He swallows loudly and glances at me, without answering. I drag him inside to the reception's desk. A lady with narrow magenta-coloured glasses, a stout and thin face, and narrow features looks up at me, after finishing some paperwork.

She sees my Number tattoo and bows her head in deep respect. She motions to the elevators and I thank her. We walk over there and I press the button with the arrow pointing down.

The elevator dings and we silently go inside.  /Welcome to Canta./

Black Tiger: Entrance.

I was hot on their trail. Them being Bastion's current Number Thirteen and our escaped bounty. We would get so close to them and then, they would get out of our grasp.

Well, that is what I would say but that is not exactly what is happening.

"Damn it, Ryder," Bain mutters as he slows down to a stoplight as the yellow turns to red.

"What?" I ask, exasperated, looking at him pointedly. He rolls his eyes.

"This is all your fault. I can't believe we're in the middle of one of the largest cities in the world without a clue as to where the hell we're going!" This time, I roll my eyes.

"We're not lost. I know a uh, shortcut," I say proudly. He looks at me out of the corner of his eye.

"Yeah, and I turn into a monkey during the night because an old wizard gave me special powers," he says sarcastically. I frown. He did not have to be an ass about it.

"Well I'm sorry but- wait! Bain! Take a left here!" I yell and Bain jerks to a left.

"I would imagine that you would remember where your previous headquarters are," he says gruffly. I shrug.

"What would be the point? I'm not with them anymore. Turn here. Right around the corner," I mutter.  He turns.

"I suppose, but still. You're memory is supposed to be extraordinary too," Bain says, grimacing. He finally finds a parking spot; which was not all that hard to do and we get out. We look at the towering skyscraper in front of us. All 144 floors of sparkling white.

"I'm back," I mutter softly as we cross the street and go into the building.
