Recap:

Subconsciously, I licked my dry lips. His lips turned into a smirk as he stared at me.

"Veronika, this is Alexander".

Chapter 2

"Veronika is it? Hmm," Alexander smirked, my name rolling off his tongue so easily.

"Veronika Mathews," I interjected, then mentally face palmed. Did I really just tell him my last name? How lame. Alexander smirked deeper at my fail and stuck his hand out, palm upward.

"Alexander Smith, Milady," he said smugly, bowing deeply. I blushed madly and took his hand. He pulled me up with ease. Man, what is up with guys these days? I mean, did they all take steroids? 'Cause I'm not the lightest person around. Suddenly, Alexander chuckled randomly, muttering something like; 'You're not the heaviest either'. For what? I have no idea. Only then did I realize I was being pulled into a bear hug. Feeling very awkward, I pat Alex's back in robotic movements. Finally, I was released and fell back, onto Jason. I looked up at him, flushed with embarrassment.

"S-sorry!" I blurted, getting up from his lap. He laughed and grabbed my hand.

"Kinks, it's fine, I don't mind. I knew you couldn't keep your hands off-," he ran his free hand down his chest and did the worm thing with his body. "This hot bod". I stared in fake horror when he did that then bursted out laughing. He let go of my hand and faked hurt. All while Alexander watched us, with an amused expression on his face.

"Yup, definitely best friends," he concluded, shaking his head, smiling.

"You know it!" Jason and I said in unison. Then I punched him playfully. He pouted and rubbed his shoulder.

"That hurt!"

"Suck it up!" Jason bowed his head.

"Yes Mommy".

"Jason! Get me the hell off this death machine!!" I screamed when he stopped in front of my house. Jason chuckled and got off, grabbing my hand and pulling me off. When my feet touched the ground, I fell and kissed the ground.

"Thank god! Earth, solid ground!" I said dramatically.

"Yea, until there's an earthquake and the ground goes," he put his hands out then brought them together making a swoosh sound. "And brings you with it to the--".

"Oookay! If you're done predicting my death, I bid you goodnight," I said, getting up from the ground.

""I bid you goodnight"?" Jason questioned, his face scrunching up in confusion. I shooed him away with a wave of my hand.

"I'm tipsy! You know how I get after two shots of vodka!" I yelled at him, crossing my arms and pouting. After I met Alex, we got comfortable in his living room with a bottle Goldshaulger and Wall-E. At the end of the movie, I was declaring my undying (and secret) love for Wall-E. Jason chuckled and slipped his hand into mine.

"Alright tipsy girl, let's get you inside and in bed," Jason whispered, walking to the side of my house, where my room was. I let go of his hand and began to climb up the garden archway, pressed up against the wall. Why? I have no freakin' idea. Once on top, I slid my window open. Slowly, I crawled inside. My foot caught on the window sill and I fell forward with an oof.

"Kinky, you okay?" I heard Jason ask, climbing on the archway.

"Peachy," I mumbled when I heard him chuckling. Avoiding my foot, he climbed in my room and hooked his hands under my armpits and picked me up. Slowly, he laid me on my bed. He smiled and started getting up but I grabbed his arm.
