Aphmau's POV

I sat in a corner of my jail cell in O'Khasis. Why I was arrested mystifies me. The party was all the way in Phoenix Drop. And there wasn't anything bad going on.

A guard came down and stopped at my cell. He sighed before talking. "You have a visitor." I brightened.

"Who is it?" I asked. I wondered if it was Garroth or Laurence or even Katelyn. The guard just snickered.

"Don't get excited. You don't know him. He just wants to see the prisoners." My smile dropped. The door to my cell opened and a boy my age walked in. He looked at me. He was kind of cute. He had black hair and eyes. He also was wearing a mask over his mouth so I couldn't tell if he was smiling or frowning. But, I figured that he was smiling from the way his eyes were. It was like his eyes were smiling.

"Hello, I just wanted to check up on all of our prisoners today. Guard, could you please give us some space." That kind of worried me. He wanted to be alone?

The guard just nodded. "Yessir!" He then walked off, leaving me with the boy.

"Finally," he sighed. "Some time alone. I am going to be straight up with you. I saw the guards pull you in so I had to come see you. I wanted to know why a pretty girl like you was arrested. Oh, uh, erm," he started to stutter. "I didn't mean it like that!" His cheeks got pink. I giggled a bit, then slapped my hand onto my mouth. He was from O'Khasis! I can't like the enemy!

"I am going to be straight up with you," I said stealing his line. He got that smiling look in his eyes. "I don't know why I was arrested. I was at a party in Phoenix Drop, a legal party, when your guards came barging in and scared everyone off." He stepped back in shock.

"Wh-why would they do that!?" He stuttered out. I shrugged. "So, uh, what's your name?"

I hesitated. Can I trust him? I don't really have a choice though. "Aphmau. My name is Aphmau."

"Aphmau." He tested out my name. "Cute name! I like it."

"Soooo, you gonna tell me yours?"

"Oh, yeah! I'm Zane. Youngest son to the Lord of O'Khasis," he said sheepishly. "I have to say that when I say my name. I gotta be 'formal'" He makes air parenthesis with his fingers.

"Haha, it's ok." He gave me that smile like look in his eyes again.

Just then, the guard came. "Ok, your time is up." Zane nodded and left the cell. He looked at me through the bars.

"Don't worry. I'll try to come back," he whispered through the bars. I nodded to show that I heard him. He nodded and walked off with the guard. For some reason, I only dreamed and could think of one thing.

Zane.
