Guard

Aphmau's POV

I felt my box bring lifted. Just a little longer. I heard a conversation and knew that my guards were probably talking with Zane about his presence. My box was set nearby so I heard part of it.

"I am just staying one day," I heard Zane say. "I am just looking for someone. And if I don't find them by tomorrow I will leave." A slight pause.
"I don't trust him," I heard what sounded like Dante. "He IS from O'Khasis." I heard the guards muttering in agreement.

"He can stay, but just tonite." Laurence declared. "If our Lord was here, they would say the same." I heard Garroth sigh.

"Fine, he can stay." Garroth reluctantly agreed.

My box was picked up.

"Follow me," Dante said. "I'll take you to where you're staying." They started walking off.

"Stop by later!" Zane yelled. I have a gift for you guys." I heard the guards murmuring in confusment. It took all I had to keep from making a noise.

(~Time Skip to Dusk~)

Zane's POV

"Come out Aphmau. The guards aren't here and your guard friends will be here soon." The lid inched off the box Aphmau popped her head out. She rubbed her neck. I went over and pulled her out.

"Thanks." She smiled.

"No problem. Now, go get ready!" She went into another room to change. Then, a knock was heard at the door. I pulled my mask up.

"Come in!"

The the guards entered. The youngest looking one had blue hair. The second in command had pale brown hair. The head guard had blonde hair. They looked at me impatiently. Finally, the brown haired one spoke up.

"So?" He asked. "You said you had a gift for us?" I nodded. My gaze never left the blonde haired one though. I know that I've seen those bright blue eyes before. The door to where Aphmau was changing opened.

The guards turned, but the blonde just returned my gaze. The other two gasped. "Aphmau?!" The blonde's eyes widened and he turned as well.

She stood in the doorway with a smile on her face. "Hey guys." She laughed. All three ran up to her and hugged her. I smiled. She was really happy. She looked at me and her smile widened.

She walked over to me and looked me in the eyes. "Thanks Zane. For bringing me home." The blonde gasped. We all turned to face him.

"Zane? Is that really you?" I knew that voice. But from where? Wait, is this...

"Garroth?" A tear slipped down my cheek. I saw one do the same for him. We ran at eachother and hugged tightly.

The other two guards looked at Garroth in astonishment. Aphmau looked at both of us in amazement.

"Do you two know eachother?" Blue-haired asked.

"Am I missing something here?" Brown-haired asked.

"Garroth is your missing brother?!" Aphmau asked in astonishment.

"Brother?!" Blue-haired and brown-haired exclaimed. Garroth and I laughed and nodded.

Garroth finding finally let go and introduced the other guards. "The blue-haired one is Dante and the brown-haired one is Laurence. And you seem to already know Aphmau."

We all chatted for a bit. I couldn't believe it. I found my brother. I told them of my shipwreck plan. They all agreed to help. It would happen a bit past Brightport. I would leave tomorrow at noon and they would meet me around the crash site, most likely in Brightport.

I smiled as they all left. I was home.
