Zane's POV
When I woke up, Aphmau was still sleeping so I didn't move. I just stared at the rising sun. It took me a bit but I suddenly realized that I've never seen the sunrise from here. Or the surrounding area. We had moved from the lake to an unknown area.
Aphmau finally stirred and sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She looked out at the sunrise and a look of shock filled her expression.
"Z-zane, where are we?" She worriedly asked me. I shrugged and looked down.
"I dunno..." I replied quietly. Aphmau hugged me.
"The rest probably think that we are dead." She stated. I nodded with a grim look. "We don't even know where to go to return." I grabbed her chin and angled her face towards me.
"It's gonna be alright. We can build a house here." She smiled. She then leaned in and kissed me gently and pulled away still smiling.
"Ok," she whispered. She then leaned her head against my shoulder. We got up after a while and headed towards the trees to clear out land and get material to build our new house. We were gonna build a house together. And maybe even start a family.
I know that we already have a kid even though she is gone. But Aphmau and I wanted multiple kids. Another girl or a boy. Doesn't matter. As long as we have a happy family.
Levin's POV
We were rebuilding Phoenix Drop. Those Shadow Knights caused a ton of damage. I wish Aphmau and Zane were here. They were like siblings to me. I know that I have Malachi as my adopted brother but still.
I was working on my house when I felt something pull on my shirt. I looked down and my eyes widened.
I saw a young two year old girl with raven black hair. Her eyes were as green as Malachi's scarf. She was wearing almost all black. She was also holding a small bronze dagger that looked like a sword with her.
She looked at me and smiled.
"Do you know where my mommy is?" She sweetly asked. Tears started to prick at my eyes. I know this girl. And we had all decided that her parents had died.
"Honey, your mommy and daddy are-are..." I trailed off. How do you tell a little girl that he parents are dead?
Her smile faded and a look of determination replaced it.
"No." She said plainly. I looked at her confused.
"What do you mean?" I asked. She stared me in the eyes.
"They. Aren't. Dead." She stated. I looked at her in shock.
"Y-yes they are..." She still looked at me.
"No." She stated again. "They will come back." With that, she walked over to Garroth. She would stay here. Garroth had already decided to train her, her being his niece.
Misty needed to accept that her parents were dead. If Aphmau and Zane were alive, they would've come back. Right?
The rest of the day, everytime I saw Misty, that question would return.
