Kate's pov
After Carlisle welcomed us inside,I saw Tanya getting in Edward's space while he was trying to talk to Eleazar. My sister will stop at anything to get his attention. Suddenly, I heard a child's laughter coming from the kitchen. Everybodies head rose at the sound.
"As some of you know, we have a new family member," Edward said. "For those that don'tknow, I'll bring her in here".
He left and came back carrying a small child with Carmen close behind them.
"This", Edward said sitting the girl on the couch with the girl in his lap."is Cassidy".
Carmen patted her hand and nodded her head at her.
She sighed and then said "Hello Kate,Irina,and Eleazar".
"What about me", Tanya whined. "Eddie, make her greet me".
Edward looked mad and started to say something, when Cassidy murmured something to him and he relaxed. I see my sister has done it again.
"What is the meaning of this Edward",Eleazar said sternly. "A human child, whom you've seem to take a liking to".
Minutes after he said this Edward decided to take Cassidy outside to play. Carmen and I went with them.
"She's so beautiful", Carmen said. "I think that you should get to know her better, so you,Irina,Tanya,Rosalie,Cassidy, and myself are going shopping".
I am so excited because I love shopping and I really want to now Cassidy better and hang out with her. Then Cassidy came over to us and asked if Edward could come with us. Carmen looked over at me and I nodded my head. She ran back to Edward screaming that we said yes. He picked her up and spun her around.
"Edward likes her dosen't he", I asked Carmen.
"I believe so and I think that she has feelings for him too", she told me. "Earlier on she drew a picture of her and Edward getting married."
Before we could say anything else Cassidy came over and asked shyly "Can I sit between you two?"
"Yes you can", I told her as I moved to make room for her.
She sat down and while we were talking, she curled up to me and fell asleep. Edward came over and picked her up while walking towards the house.
*The Next Day*
Cassidy's pov
As I woke up the next morning, I felt someones eyes watching me. My eyes opened and I saw Edward watching me.
"Good morning", he murmured seeming happy about something.
"Morning", I said back to him."What are you so happy about?"
He didn't answer me and we were looking at each other for a couple moments when my stomach growled.
"Esme has breakfast waiting for you downstairs", he told me.
I hopped out of bed and held his hand while walking down the stairs.
"Good morning everybody", I greeted everyone in the room while going to sit and eat my breakfast.
"Cassidy dear, you have to finish quickly so we can go", Carmen told me.
I ate quickly and ran to my room without tripping. I was glad Emmett wasn't around to see me because he would laugh every time I would fall. I quickly dressed in a light purple turtleneck with jeans and purple flats.
"Ready to go", Edward asked me.
I nodded and ran downstairs. We went out the door and piled into Emmett's Jeep and off we went.
Edward's pov
I helped Cassidy into the Jeep and sat on one side of her while Kate sat on the other side of her. I held back a sigh as Tanya climbed in beside me. "Eddie", she purred while putting her arm on me. "Why won't you spend time with me?"
I ran my hand through my hair and pulled her arm off of me. She pouted at me and before I could say something Cassidy beat me to it. "How many times do I have to tell you",she said glaring at Tanya. "He dosen't like to be called Eddie!"
Tanya looked shocked but, she recovered quickly and said "How would you know, you stupid, little human. He likes me better than you!"
I glanced over at Cassidy and she was looking at Tanya with a murderous look on her face. "I put up with this shit with Emmett yesterday and I will not put up with it from you!"
Everyone in the jeep was shocked and so was I. My sweet little angel just cussed. At that moment we pulled up into the parking lot and got out. I lifted Cassidy up into my arms and murmured "Thank you for standing up for me" and kissed her cheek.
She blushed and muttered "You're welcome and I'm sorry that I cussed back there." I sat her down and she ran to Kate and she leaned down to whisper something in Cassidy's ear.
"Hey Edward", Cassidy yelled back to me. "Can I borrow your phone? I wanna tell Emmett what I did, he will be so proud!!"
