My Summer

The next day was officially my first day of Summer break. I could wake up and not have to go to school for 3 whole months. Still, it's really boring around here. I could go to the beach, but then I'd have to change clothes and put on my swimming trunks and I don't have the most appealing body to say the least. Or I could go and get some ice cream. Yeah, that sound like a plan. I put on some sun screen, hopped on my bike and went to the closest ice cream shop, which was 2 mile away ugghhhh!!! I was determined to get ice cream and I won't stop at nothing until I get it. But then something in my mind said "hey, why don't you just teleport there, you don't want to waste your powers do you?" That's not a bad idea voice inside my head. I barely ever tried to use them so this was a stretch. I figured out how to use my powers back in 6th though. I can't go to the place unless I have seen it or been there before. All I had to do was concentrate hard enough and I would be there, but I don't think people would be okay with a boy just randomly appearing in front of them in the line, so I'd have to teleport to a bathroom or something and it will be shorter distance than riding my bike for 2 long miles. I know that the ice cream store was in near the beach so i thought of a place to go to that I remembered. I got it,  I will put on my trunks and teleport to the ocean and then I will come out of the water. I know, it sounds like a stupid idea, but I couldn't think of anything at the time and I craved ice cream. My goal is to teleport into the shallow part of the water and not in the middle of the ocean, then it would be the last of Eli Matthews.

I put on my trunks and my pool shoes , now it's time to zap. Hey, I actually like that term. I could be a super hero and say " IT'S TIME TO ZAP!" Never mind, it was just a silly thought. I put all concentration into it. I pictured in my mind the ocean, the water, and I pictured all the people at the beach. I held my breathe because I knew what came next. I felt the same tingly sensation from all the other times and in an instant, I was under water. The water was cold  but it felt good on my body as the sun was beaming down over ocean. I surveyed the water to see where I was. I wasn't that far from shore, but I was still under water. I got out of the water to get some ice cream. The line was like a ghost town except for two kids and an old man. I ordered a large vanilla cone with sprinkles with a cherry on top, the usual. After I finished my ice cream, I found a bathroom to go to so I could go home. The next few days I chilled, hung out with Jordan and Michael, make fun of his cast,  and we went to the beach and swam in the water. Micheal couldn't but we still had fun. I decided to contribute my summer to training myself to teleport better than I already could and my mom put me in karate so I wouldn't be doing nothing all summer but it was only on Tuesday and Thursday so I had the rest of the week to myself.

I decided that I needed to get in shape so every day I ran 5 miles. My dad said that I was more of a long-distance runner than a sprinter. When I was 7, my dad entered me in a 1000 meter race. I was scared being that I was little. I thought I would be running forever and ever. I didn't win but I held my own against the other kids that were bigger and taller than me. After the first two weeks, I bumped it up to 7 miles, then 10, and then 12. By then beginning of August, I was running 12 miles a day. My karate skills also came in handy as well. I was walking home one night and two boys tried to rob me. I learned a move from my karate teacher where you flip your opponent on his or her back. I did it to one guy and he looked pretty hurt. The other guy put him on his back and ran away. For once I actually felt like I wasn't weak and I could protect someone. Someone like Lindsey.
