The first room was the training room, which was filled with many weights and machines that I had no idea what they did. I seen a rack of throwing knives and that seemed to interest me more than anything else.
"So does everybody specialize in a certain combat or do you just mix it up every now and then?" I ask as I study the earthling weaponry. It was very different from my planet.
Robin picks up the longest and holds it out in his hands. "We know lots of tricks, but its usually one type of style we each stick with."
I nod, keeping my eyes glued on the blade. "I see." Without even asking for permission, I reach out and grab a knife in my hand, twirling it between my fingers. "Werewolves, on the other hand, know every kind of fighting technique and can use almost any weapon we get our hand on."
I seen questions bubbling in their head, so I just spit out the most common question, really not in the mood to have my brain picked again. "As I have mentioned several times, I was trained in every technique of fighting since I was able to walk."
Robin shakes his head. "Yeah we know, but we would still like to see them sometimes. Maybe we could learn something."
I shake my head. "Sorry Wonder Boy, but the skills a wolf is taught will be taken to their grave." Honestly I just wanted to be stubborn.
They all looked disappointed, but it was soon brushed away when I put the knives back and began walking round the door. As we made our way out of the Training room, the halls began to grow bigger and soon we made it to the main part of the tower.
The biggest room was near the center of the building, and by far my favorite. It had a huge white screen on one side with a giant keypad in front of it, and a TV in the corner with a long, circular couch in front of it that could seat 10 wolves at once. There was also a long couch that stretched all the way from the top left side to the bottom with tables in front of them, and an elevated floor behind it leading to hallways on either side.
"This is the Main room." Robin says, showing me around. "Where we spend most of our time."
He leads me to the white screen and I stare down at the many blinking buttons, surrounded by another dozen small levers and knobs. "What is this for?" I ask.
"Notifications." He replies. "It will alert us when something happens in the city, and it is also like virtual map. We can look up any area and it shows here, and it can also help track down any villain within city limits using newspaper articles and news reports from recent events."
I could have swore I felt my brain exploding. "I'm gonna pretend I understand that, just so I don't get a lecture."
On the other side of the room, was a huge wall covered in windows from top to bottom. It was in the perfect position to where we could see the entire city. The buildings looked the best at the angle and for once they didn't seem like metal giants like before.
"Now this is more like it." I say, jumping down to the couch that rested right in the center of the view.
Behind the seating area a good ways of was what the humans called a kitchen. It was a small space that was surrounded by countertops arranged into a square shape.
I walk over and try to identify the strange objects that were arranged on the counters. "What are these used for again?"
I ended up discovering this tall glass cup that was attached to another piece below it. There was a button that said 'start' and I mindlessly press it, sending the device into a growling rage.
"Whoa!" I bark. "What is this thing?"
I noticed a huge metal blade inside the cup and fought to stick my hand inside of it. Cyborg comes over and presses the button again, making the thing stop growling and fall back asleep.
"Its called a blender." Beastboy explains. "Its chops up fruits and vegetables so we can eat it."
I examined the other electronics that were in the kitchen, and suddenly noticed the huge white box behind me. I grabbed the handle and slowly opened it, sending a sudden burst of arctic air my way.
I slam it shut. "What the hell." I laugh. "Its a cold maker."
They all bursted into laughter. "Its a fridge." Raven who was barely even chuckling, informs me. "Its keeps foods cold so it doesn't go bad."
"You have got to be kidding." I look around at the the savvy things the humans owned. "Please tell me how hard your life is."
Robin finally catches his breath enough to speak. "Sorry A." I cringe when he use my nickname, just another reminder of home. "Its hard to remember that you come from a place with no electricity."
"And I plan on keeping it that way." I growl. "Just be sure than when we go back, none of this stuff comes with you. My father would kill me if I tried to modernize the East."
