“Look, Chief, it was never supposed to go that way. We were supposed to get in, do the job, and get out.”

“The job? You mean stealing a practically priceless diamond?”

“It’s not practically priceless. It’s three hundred million dollars.”

“It’s the Goddamn Hope Diamond!”

“Tsk, tsk, now I won’t have shouting in my interrogation.”

I’m the one interrogating you. I call the shots.”

“Well, you’re calling the wrong ones.”

“Listen, you little…no, you know what? I am done with your childish games. Who paid you? And why are they hiring a bunch of teenagers to do their work?

“Oh, don’t go based on my fake ID. I’m not actually eighteen.”

“Then how old are you?”

“I’m forty, with a knack for knitting, and I enjoy long walks on the beach.”

“You aren’t exactly earning any brownie points here, kid.”

“I don’t need brownie points.”

“Why not?”

“Because I’ll be out of your hair in no time.”

“You’re not going anywhere.”

“Patience is a virtue, Chief.”

“What?”

“Three…”

“What?”

“Two…”

“Why are you counting down?”

“One.”
