~Greencough - a common chest infection that can spread quickly and is highly contagious. Kits and elders are more prone to catching it.

~Whitecough - a milder version of greencough. Can develop into greencough if not treated.

~Kitten-cough - a chest infection for kits (?).

~Blackcough - a chest infection that can cause symptoms such as: expelling blood, high fever, and coughing.

~Poison - poison can accidentally be ingested from eating or drinking poisonous substances, eating poisoned or rotten prey, drinking tainted water, inhaling too much smoke from a fire, or being bitten by a venomous animal.

~Rat-borne Infections - Carrionplace disease. Carried by rats.

- -

~Loss of Sensory Perception - loss of hearing or eyesight. Occurs due to old age, an accident, infections, or birth defects. White kits with blue eyes have a higher chance of becoming deaf.

~Joint Aches - when joints cause pain and difficulty to move.

- -

~Toothaches - caused by a cracked tooth, cavities, or an infection in the mouth.

- -

~Fever - abnormally high temperature of the body. It is not a disease, but a common symptom in infections such as greencough.

~Chill - mostly associated with cold weather or being submerged in cold water for a long period of time. This condition is mild and not a disease, although kits and elders are at higher risk of dying.

~Wounds - injuries in which the skin or muscles beneath are torn, cut, or punctured. They are dangerous due to blood loss, infections, or damage of the organs. Wounds are common.

~Sprain - stretched or torn ligaments of the joint. Causes severe pain and decreased ability to move the joint.

~Joint Dislocation - the displacement of a bone from its normal joint.

- -

~Cracked Pads - when paw pads are cracked due to cold weather or walking long distances on hard surfaces.

~Broken Bones - a cracked or broken bone in the body. Usually makes the cat with the broken bone crippled for the rest of his/her life. Cats most often break their legs, but they will sometimes break their backbone, which can kill them or make their body crippled.

*Types of Poisons*

~Deathberries~

Description: red berries from the dark leaved, poisonous yew bush.

Location: grows in forests and ravines.

Effect: will kill a cat within minutes when consumed.

~Foxglove Seeds~

Description: tiny black seeds from the bell-shaped flower of the foxglove plant.

Location: almost everywhere, especially in temperate regions.

Effect: can easily cause paralysis and heart failure.

~Holly Berries~

Description: plant with spiny leaves that produces red berries.

Location: grows in forests.

Effect: not nearly as dangerous as deathberries, but still poisonous.

~Deadly Nightshade~

Description: a small shrub with faintly scented, bell shaped flowers that are purple tinged with green in color. Berries are shiny and black when ripe.

Location: moist, shady places. Often grows in places where the soils are rich in limestone.

Effect: poisonous; deadly

~Water Hemlock~

Description: green or white flowers with petals in umbrella-shaped clusters.

Location: wet, marshy areas.

Effect: poisonous; causes writhing and foaming at the mouth.
