"no harm done, i swear!"

"Tell me all about your home, Princess Lusine," Loki says, striking up conversation with the distant woman sat beside him, her mind seeming to wander away from him.

He lets his eyes graze over every feature of her face, both in an attempt to lure her in and an attempt to satisfy his own growing curiosity. She wasn't average by any means. He was in the presence of a woman who would do anything to get what she wanted and, unsurprisingly, this was pleasing to him.

Lusine looks over at him with a faint smile on her thin pink lips. "There's nothing there. Nothing but wolves, war and death," She responds, looking down at the food on her plate. "I don't know why anyone would be interested in my home. Asgard is much more interesting."

"How so?"

"In Asgard there's more people to mess with. They don't know what I'm capable of; they don't know that I can get in their minds," She explains, but then she frowns as she looks deep into Loki's eyes. She bites her lip before saying, "But you... I can't get into your mind. You're blocking me out, aren't you? Because you know how easy it would be for me to kill you."

Loki stands up suddenly, scraping his chair back and grabbing a hold of Lusine's wrist. "Come with me," He commands, his eyebrows furrowed. Lusine stands up too but pulls her arm from his vice-like grip, unappreciative of being man-handled.

"Don't handle me like I'm some kind of doll," Lusine hisses quietly not wanting to alert the attention of all those in the hall. But, much to her dismay, Loki scraping his chair back across the stone floor had already earned a few glares of annoyance and a few more of interest as to what in the hell was going on.

Loki scoffs and grabs her arm again, pulling her behind him as he marches out of the hall onto the balcony. Lusine keeps trying to pull her arm away from him, but to no avail.

"You're a violent one, aren't you?" Loki asks, finally letting go of her arm and walking to the railing of the balcony. "I bet you wish you were able to kill me," He assumes, following it with a short laugh that made her blood boil beneath her skin.

"What makes you think I can't kill you?" Lusine folds her arms across her chest, brows folded into a tight frown.

"Try it," Loki commands, standing up straight and turning to face Lusine.

She is not surprised by his outburst of challenge; in fact, it makes her smile. This was what she'd hoped for. A game to be played to entertain her during her stay on Asgard and, much to her delight, the Prince seemed eager to play ball.

"Try and get in my head, Lusine Volkov, and save your life," He finished, as he brings a small dagger out of his sleeve and begins to advance on the Volkov.

"With pleasure," Lusine purrs as her eyes begin to illuminate a stunning blue. "Loki, you're going to put down the dagger, aren't you?" She tries tentatively, her eyes flickering and her heart rate quickening as if her heart was about to explode out of her chest, more from exhilaration than fear. Loki advances quicker and quicker, the dagger aimed at Lusine. "Loki, put the dagger down!"

"It's not working, doll. Final words?" Loki laughs, only two paces away from the girl who couldn't get a grip on him, though she tried with all her might. "You're not so beautiful when you're hyperventilating, Lusine."

"Fuck you, Loki," She spits as the dagger sinks into her stomach. She slides to the floor, holding onto her wound. But her lips twist into a bloody smile. "You really think I'd risk my precious life for a game?" She asks, looking past Loki.

Loki looks over his shoulder at a woman the spitting image of Lusine. "An illusion. Clever." He looks back at the illusion he had stabbed but it had already dissolved and been taken away by the light breeze.

Lusine walks forward toward the god.

"Bad move." He reaches his arms out and swings her into the wall. One hand at her throat holding her up and the other holding her arms down to her stomach. His face was so close to hers that she could hear his every breath, watch his every blink of the eye and watch his lips as he snarls his venom.

"If you wanted to get close to me, you should have just asked," She mocks, her lips curling into a flirtatious smile and her eyes shining. "There would have been no objections."

"You barely let me lay a finger on your wrist. There's no way in Asgard that you'd make love to me for fun, Lusine."

"It wouldn't be the first time I'd done it for fun when on one of my many visits around the galaxy," She mutters, looking into Loki's eyes for a reaction.

He looks away from her powerful eye contact, to the soft, clear skin of her neck and her collar bone, revealed by her low-cut dress with no sleeves. "How many?" he finally asks after the curiosity had become too much for him to bear.

"When there's wine in my system I tend not to add to my tally, Loki," She shoots back.

"Do you remember any names?" He asks quietly, his eyes trailing up her neck to her lips. "Surely you do."

"Only a few. There was Rylace, Titus, Rosalie, Amalice, Levi and I can't really remember anymore," Lusine trails off, her tongue running over her lip as she tried to remember more of her 'lovers'.

Loki let's go of her hands and lets the hand around her neck soften its grip as he looks over her face, his own blue eyes taking her in and finding himself wishing he were on the list. "Girls too?"

"Bisexuality isn't uncommon, Loki," Lusine says, lifting her hands up to his chest and tapping rhythmically on his armour. "I'm proud of who I am. Rosalie and Amalice happen to be some of the most beautiful women in the galaxy."

"I beg to differ," Loki mutters, his thumb smoothing over Lusine's straight jawline.

Not as subtle as he would've liked to have been, but there wasn't much he could do to keep his hands to himself when she matched him for pace in every aspect.

A howl in the distance makes Loki step away from Lusine, releasing his grip. Lusine rubs her neck with both of her hands, relived to be breathing.

"Thank goodness you love stories," She says to Loki, eyes glinting with sparks as bright as the stars above their heads who gaze down upon the unconventional meeting of two darkened souls with tears in their eyes.

Loki looks at her with a narrowed expression. "I'm no child, do not patronise me."

"Whatever Loki." She rolls her eyes, unimpressed.

"Go back to the feast hall. I suggest you do not sit with me any longer," He says, looking to the doorway.

"I'll see you later then," Lusine says and regards him with her lopsided smirk. "Thanks for this, it's taught me far more than I hoped it would." She lets her eyes graze over his body before turning and walking back into the feast, knowing in her gut this was the beginning of something for the history books.
