I got to the pool right on time and saw that she wasn't here. I decided to listen to my iPod while i waited for her to get here. 20 minutes later I saw a pair of feet enter my vision. I looked up and saw someone i didn't think would ever be here at the pool.
Autumn.
I was dumbfounded for a while until she cleared her throat and raised one eyebrow. I mentally shook my head and told myself to calm down.
She cleared her throat again and gave me a look that said i was crazy.
"Where can i change"?
I pointed to the employee bathroom.
She said "I'll be right back".
I just nodded not really trusting my voice. She just walked away without saying anything else. When she was gone I tried to calm down. I was going to kill Blake for not even bothering to mention who i was going to train. I was calmed down by the time she walked out.
"Ready to go"?
"Yea. Do i have to wear one of those swim cap thingies"?
I rolled my eyes and said "No you just have to wear the pool uniform".
By the time we were done with the first part of training it was time for lunch.
"Would you like to get something to eat"?
Autumn stared at me for a second before answering " Yea sure why not"?
We decided to ride in my car. Not being able to stand the silence anymore i turned on the radio. One of my favorite country songs was on. I was humming along with the words not really paying attention to Autumn. She glanced in my direction every once in a while. When the song was over i looked at her and saw that she was also looking at me. My car was so small that our faces were only a few inches away. If i wanted to i could kiss her. Whoa no you can't think like that. She probably has a boyfriend anyway.
"Actually i don't anymore. We just broke up last week. Why?"
Oh shit!! Did i just say that out loud?
"Why do you ask?"
I thought of what to use as an excuse but i couldn't come up with a good one. I finally just said I was just curious.
She gave me a sideways glance to see if i was joking or not. Realization showed in her eyes but she quickly rearranged her expression.
I was listening to the radio humming quietly when I heard Autumn ask
"Do you have a girlfriend or are you single too?
Sadness etched its way onto my face as i thought back to that day when Brooke died. I guess Brooke saw because she looked away and said "You don't have to if you don't want to.
I looked at her and wondered if i should just tell her about Brooke or just do like she said and not answer.
I decided it would be best to just tell her instead of lying and saying we just broke up even though we did but still.
"I'll answer but you can't tell anyone."
Autumn looked at me like she was shocked that I even answered her. She finally said "i won't tell anyone."
I paused for a little while. I took a deep breath and told her everything. When i was done telling her she looked shocked, hurt and even depressed. I didn'tt really understand the depressed look but i guess my story is kind of depressing.
She finally said "I'm sorry you lost her that way. I know what your going through. I lost my parents when i was....
Realization crossed her face as she realized what she just told me. She abruptly looked away when a stray tear escaped her sky blue eyes.
