Prologue

Piper lay on her bed, thinking about Jason. He had been acting very strange lately. It was almost as if he was avoiding her. She was confused. The Giant War was over, Leo came back alive(with Calypso too! CALEO! Ugh, stupid inner Aphrodite.), everything was peaceful, everyone was happy . . . Right?

She sighed. Maybe a stroll on the beach would clear her mind. She grabbed her stuff and headed to the beach. It was noisy, to say the least. Katie Gardner was chasing Travis Stoll, Percy and Annabeth were talking, Apollo kids were playing basketball with some guys from Camp Jupiter.

When she reached the beach, the sun was setting. It was beautiful. Piper let her mind wander. She was thinking about the pretty shades of pink and orange in the sky when she heard voices.

     "C'mon Reyna, just one?" said a familiar voice. Jason.

There was scuffling."No, I have a boyfriend, and you have a girlfriend. Let go!" Reyna said.

Piper stood up and ran towards the voices.

She found Reyna and Jason behind some trees. Jason was trying to kiss Reyna, his fingers wrapped tightly around her wrist, trying to pull her closer.

"Piper, thank the gods!" Reyna caught sight of Piper and sighed in relief."Get him off!"

Together, Reyna and Piper managed to push him off.

"What happened, Reyna?" Piper asked, her heart throbbing in her chest."I was walking around the cabins when Jason asked me to go here to talk about something important, then he suddenly grabbed me and well, you know the rest." Reyna said, rubbing her wrist.

Piper's head was beginning to hurt. "Jason, how could you do that to me?"

Jason sneered at Piper. "I don't love you anymore."

Piper felt dizzy. She put a hand to her forehead. His words echoed in her head.

She could barely make out the sound of Reyna yelling at Jason. When she stopped to take a breath, Reyna glanced at Piper.

She could see concern in her onyx eyes."Hey, are you okay?"

Piper nodded, saying she just needed to sit down. She flopped down on the sand.

Tears flowed down her cheeks before she could stop then. Reyna sat down next to her and started comforting her. Taking this as an chance to escape, Jason sneaked away.

"Hey, it's okay, you'll find a better guy," Reyna said in a gentle voice.

Piper couldn't believe she thought this girl was a "rival" of sorts when she first met her."It's just..." Piper sniffed."It's just that I'm shocked. That wasn't the Jason I know. Or thought I knew, anyway," She said bitterly.

Reyna sighed."Exactly what I was thinking." They got up and walked together towards the Aphrodite cabin."I think I'm leaving camp. I can't live here with this pain." Piper said. Reyna shook her head sadly, knowing that it was no use to dissuade her from going. She bid farewell to Piper and headed towards the Hades cabin to see Nico.

Piper went into the cabin and started packing immediately. She strapped Katropis to her waist, grabbed her backpack, wrote a note and gave it to Reyna to give it to the seven. Piper stepped outside and said goodbye to the place that was once her home.

Once Reyna received the note, she immediately gathered the rest of the seven plus Nico and read the note out loud.

Dear Whoever's reading this,

I have decided to leave camp, just for a while. Reyna knows why.

I'm really sorry. Don't bother looking for me. Please ask Mitchell or Lacy if they could be head counsellor, just don't let Drew take over. Tell Chiron I'm gone.

Once she finished reading the note, she then proceeded to tell them what had happened just now. When she was done, everyone was shooting daggers at Jason, who looked, surprisingly, sad and guilty."I got charmspoke by Drew to try to kiss Reyna and ruin Piper and I's relationship."He said plainly, sadness written all over his face.

     "Crap." Leo said."We need to get her back. Even after she specifically told us not to try and find her. But that doesn't matter."
