I wake up extra early to get ready. I promised Jason yesterday that I would change my appearance back to Piper McLean-ish. I rummage around in my closet. I'm pretty sure I had my black hair dye instructions in here somewhere. Hmm...found it! I open it. How to test for allergies...how to apply...here! How to remove.(AN:I don't think that you can actually remove hair dye, but I didn't want her to dye her hair again, since hair dye is unhealthy...on with the story!)I follow the instructions and manage to get all the black outta my hair. I braid feathers in my hair.
I don't put on my midnight blue contacts like I normally did and just leave my eye colour the way it's supposed to be. I open my closet and pull out a light blue hoodie and brown denim shorts. I wear my camp bead necklace, and I take out my headphones and inspect them. The purple parts are fine, but the black? Nah. I'm done with being punkish and goth. Like Nico. Or Thalia. No offence.
I cover the purple and the speaker part and search the house for spray paint. Blue, to be exact. Hey, I'm not giving up my music yet. I'm easing into being Piper again slowly. I find it and holding my nose, I spray the black into light blue, like the sky.
When I'm done, I grab my bag and head downstairs. My dad stares at me."What? The old me's back! Kind of, anyway." I say. I grab a PB&J sandwich and eat it while walking to school. I notice boys are staring at me. I stare right back. Some smirk at me, some shrink away, and the rest continue staring. I ignore them.
Once I reach school, Lofts saunters up to me."Hey, you must be new here. I'm Aaron Lofts." He puts his hand across my shoulder and smiles. I swat his hand away forcefully."It's me, Aria," I say."You need to come with me to camp tomorrow. I'll meet you here at 8."
He flashes me a blinding smile."Can do, babe." I roll my eyes and walk away to my friends. Crystal looks at me."Yes? Can I help you?" Arianna rolls her eyes."It's Aria. Or should I say, Piper?" I nod."I have to bring Lofts to camp." At this, both my best friends' eyebrows shoot up.
"Godly parent is a goddess." I say. They nod."Let's get to class." I check my schedule. Bio. I walk to the classroom and sit next to Jason. His eyes brighten when he sees me."Hey, Piper!" He says, grinning like a idiot."Hey, Jason, our project is halfway done, right?" He nods, still smiling."Please stop," I say."It's getting a bit creepy."
He stops smiling, but I can tell he wants to."Sorry." Mr Weston walks in and starts class. Blah, blah. All the usual, boring stuff. When class was over, we walked together to our next class.
---time skip(boring classes)to lunch--
"Lunch! Yes!" I say triumphantly. I take Jason's hand and drag him to the cafeteria with me. When we reach there, I glance at Jason. He's looking at our joined hands and blushing. I realise what I'm doing and I blush. But Crystal and Arianna already saw. Crystal is cackling and shrieking,"YES!JIPER FOREVER!" While Arianna is smiling."Aw, the lovebirds are so cute together, hmm, Crystal?" She teases when we reach the table. Jason and I blush profusely.
We grab our lunches and start eating."So, Jason, Lofts and I are going to camp tomorrow. You two wanna come?" I ask. Arianna nods while Crystal shrugs. Arianna says she'll meet us at the school and Crystal says maybe, don't wait on her. We continue eating until Lofts interrupts."Hey, babe," he says, caressing my cheek. I ignore him, not wanting to hurt him. I wouldn't want to pay his medical bills. Or serve detention. Not that I don't have money to pay it, but...you know what I mean. Not to sound snotty and rich or anything.
Jason grits his teeth and raises his hand like he's gonna hit him but I stop him."Ha! See, she likes me." Lofts smirks."No, I just don't want either of us to serve detention or something because of you." I spit at him."Go away, moron. Remember, tomorrow, 8." He winks at me."As long as you'll be there."
When he walks away, Jason looks like smoke's about to come out of his ears. Arianna, noticing this, waves her hand dismissively and says,"Jason, it's fine. Ari-Piper's not your girlfriend anymore, dude.""Yet," Crystal mutters. At this, Jason and I blush. Wow, we're really blushing a lot today, huh?
The bell rings. We all sigh in unison and head to our respective classes.
-----time skip to after school------
"Hey, Jason?" I say."I'll meet you at your house, okay?" He smiles."Okay, Pipes." I turn and chat with the other two girls until I reach home. When I do, I snarf down my food, take a shower and flop down on my bed, staring at the ceiling. Do I really want to not love? I ask myself. I am a daughter of Aphrodite.
I sigh and shake my head. I'll think about it another day. I have to pack for camp tomorrow. I roll off my bed and onto the floor. I take my CHB shirt and jeans, my camp necklace, a book and stuff it in a canvas graffiti backpack. Sadly, I can't bring any electronics to camp, so no music.
I put my stuff on my desk and pulled out a file. I opened it and photos spilled out. I looked at them fondly. They were pictures. Pictures of the seven, Jason and me. Tears slipped silently down my cheeks. Longing filled me. Longing for the good, old days where everything was hard, but defeat-able. The battle with Gaia. It was difficult, but deep down, I knew we would still win. Because even if the seven died, we would definitely go down fighting.
Before I could start sobbing loudly, I quickly put the pictures back in the file. The way to avoid pain from reliving the past was to either face it(or the person) with a cold attitude or, preferably, keep running.
