"Mama? Ya' need anything else?" I asked my mom who hadn't been feeling too well lately.
"No, no baybeh I'm good now. Thank ya'." My mom said back to me, with a slight smile on her face. I nodded my head and walked back downstairs, plopping down on the couch with a loud sigh.
"What's wrong kid?" My step father, who I wasn't a fan of, asked me.
"Nothin." I grumbled hoping he would get the message that i didnt want him around. Ever since my father died, my mom had tried everything to get over him. She finally found this bum and ended up marrying him. There's something that he's hiding...I can feel it but I just don't know what it is yet. I try to be cordial with him for the sake of my mama but the feeling about him I just can't brush off..but for now imnjust gonna leave it at the back of my mind. I took my phone out of my pocket and scrolled down to my brothers contact name.
"Helluh?" Mel answered after 3 rings.
"Hey big bro, when ya gone be back home?" I asked him.
"Afta I'm done wit all da drop offs." He said back to me.
"Is dat gonna be before dinna?" I raised my eyebrows as if he could see my face.
"Mayne..I don't know. But if mama ask then jus tell ha' dat I'm at Sneaks place." He told me with an unsure tone.
"Right I gotchu bro. Stay safe. Luh ya'." I said before hearing the tone go silent. I sighed loudly rubbing my hands down my face. I got up to go to my room until I felt a slight tug on my wrist.
"If you need to talk to me I'm here alright." My step father said still having a hole on me. I snatched my arm away from him and gave a stank face. I continued to make my way to my room, plopping down on he bed once I got there. I just need to get rest..I have to go to my classes tomorrow so this rest is well needed. I said a small prayer before closing my eyes and letting sleep take over my body.
