"Aug lemme see ya glasses." I demanded him and he stared at me with a blank expression.
"No." He rolled his eyes at me.
"See ya eyes gonna get stuck in the back of ya head if you keep it up." I said to him in a motherly tone and that caused him to laugh.
"Aha! I knew I would get you to crack that sexy smile of yours." I kissed his cheek.
"You always do." He said while staring at me.
"Nigga what? You always stare at me like that."
"Cause ya always gotta booger in ya nose." He mean mugged me and I immediately covered up my nose, causing him to burst into laughter.
"Baybeh I'm just playing!" He laughed and moved my hands from my face, intertwining them with his.
"You're a bum." I bit my lip trying to keep from smiling.
"Aye aye, what I tell ya about bit in ya lip like dat. You gon end up startin sum." He squinted his eyes at me.
"Shut the hell up. You all talk." I laughed and he raised an eyebrow at me and nodded his head slowly.
"Ight I'm all talk...remember you said dat." He smirked and his phone buzzed. He unlocked it and was texting someone, smiling real hard.
"Who's that??" I asked getting curious.
"Nobody." He continued to type and smile so I snatched his phone.
"Aye man! Watchu doin!" He tried to take it back but I moved.
"Who the fuck is Alyssa?! Really August?" I looked at him in disbelief.
"Man we not even dating cause you still stuck on ya whack ass ex boyfriend..so of course Ima talk to otha females." He shrugged nonchalantly.
"Don't you dare bring Jojo into this situation! Yeah we're not together but I thought we knew where we stood with each other." I raised my voice with teary eyes.
"Bull shit.." He mumbled.
"How August?! Please explain how! I've been trying! My fucking boyfriend, the father of my child, my everything, is DEAD! And I'm trying to move on and you do this shit! I thought you were different.." Tears slowly ran down my cheek.
"Nah man come on stop that crying..I don't like when you cry Baybeh." He came closer to me trying to wipe my tears but I moved.
"No...just leave. Get out." I gestured towards my front door. He looked at me with sad eyes.
He hung his head low and shamefully walked to my front door, opening it only to be greeted by my daughter.
"Jolene?! What are you doing here?!" I ran to my 3, almost 4, year old and picked her up.
"Granny dropped me off here." She told me and I rolled my eyes.
"Who's that?" She pointed to August.
"Nobody important." I told her and she reached out her arms to him.
"Jo what you doing?" I held her closer to me not wanting him to hold my baby girl. August reached for her and she leaned closer to him so she could be picked up.
"Mama look! I'm tall!" She laughed and I smiled.
"What's your name? Mine is Jolene!"
"I'm August. Ya name is very beautiful." He smiled at her.
"Thank you! My mama and daddy gave it to me." She cheesed. I went over and say on the couch knowing Jolene wouldn't want August to go so he might as well get comfy again. He came in the living room with Jolene still clinging on to him, and sat on the opposite couch. She was over there talking his head off about nonsense and I zoned off, thinking about Jojo once again.
*flashback*
"Indya!" I heard my name being called and turned my head quickly, seeing my boyfriend of a year. I got up and ran to him, jumping in his arms. I kissed all over his face.
"Baby I missed you sooo much!" I said as I clung onto him tight not wanting him to put me down.
"How was the trip though? What happened? Tell me everything." I rambled on.
"I'll tell you later..but right now I got a surprise for you." He smiled and tried to put me down.
"Noo I don't wanna get down." I whined and he laughed.
"Anything for my love." He said as he carried me to his car.
We got in the car and began the journey to wherever he was taking me. We stopped in a hotel parking lot. I looked at him confused and he smirked and got out. I opened my door and got out.
"Get back in the car." He straight faced me.
"Why?" I questioned him.
"Indya, get. Back. In. The. Car." He demanded more sternly this time. I got back in and shut the door, only for him to open it back.
"Now you can get out." He smiled goofily and I laughed.
"Really Jojo! All that just so you could open my door!" I laughed harder.
"You are such a bum." I grabbed his hand intertwining our fingers together.
"You love me doe." He stuck his tongue out at me.
"As long as you know." I got on my tippy toes and licked his tongue.
"Ewww you nasty." He laughed.
"As if your tongue hasn't been in other places?" I smirked and we got up to the counter.
"Joseph Carter." He said to the desk lady.
"Oh! Your room is 356. Here's the key. Enjoy your stay." The lady said to us and we made our way to the room. Jojo slid the key in, and opened the door, revealing the beautiful scenery.
"Babe! You did all this for me?!" I stared at it in awe. He nodded with this goofy smile and I hugged him tightly, almost knocking him over.
"I love you I love you I love you." I said excitedly.
"I love you too beautiful, Now come on so I can make you have the best night ever." He grabbed my hand leading me into the room and---
*flashback over*
I was knocked out of my thoughts from my daughter calling my name obnoxiously loud.
"Yes sweetheart."
"Can we go see daddy today?" Jolene asked and I nodded my head.
"And can he come too?" She asked referring to August and I immediately shook my head and she began to whine.
"Pleaseeee mama pleaseeee!" She whined louder and louder by the minute.
"Fine! Okay just come on and get in the car." I sigh and glare and August only to see him have this dumb smirk on his face. The same face Jojo used to give me.
At Cemetary
We finally arrived here and we began our journey to Jojo's grave.
"Hey baby.." I spoke when we finally got there. I sat down on my knees and so did Jolene and August.
"Jojo meet August, August meet Jojo." I said blandly.
"Hi daddy!" Jolene said happily,"I wrote my whole name at pre-K! Next I'm gonna write your name!" She giggled and I smiled.
"Jojo...I wanted to talk to you about something in private." I motioned for August to step away. And he did just that, not too far though.
"So now that you met August...baby I like him. He reminds me so much of you and he makes me happy...its been almost 2 months that we've known each other but I feel connected with him. I wanna move on from what we head...not forget I just need your approval babe..give me a sign or something that you approve, blow the wind." I looked around waiting for something to happen and finally after 5 minutes the wind blew, blowing the leaves everywhere.
"Thank you thank you thank you!" I smiled. "We're in a little argument right now but I'll fix it. But look babe I gotta go I'll come visit you later. I love you forever and always okay?" I kissed his tomb stone.
"Jolene come tell your daddy you love him!" I told my daughter as she skipped over and kissed his tomb stone as well and told him 'I love you'.
"Until next time, Jojo. We'll be back soon baby." I got up off the ground and dusted jeans off. I motioned towards August, to let him know that we're leaving, as I picked up Jolene.
