Reality (Kirito Kirigaya Fanfic)

Christmas Ball Part 1

Hiya Reader! Since Christmas is tomorrow, I'm writing a Christmas themed part of the story!  This is my first fanfiction..so.. I hope you like it..

Melody's POV

It has been 3 months since Kirito and I had reunited together and It was Christmas Eve, the day of the huge school Christmas ball! 

"I really hope Kirito asks me.." I mumbled to myself as I got a text from Kirito.

Kirito: Hey, can I come over?

Melody: Of course

Kirito: Great, be there in 5 minutes, Bye.

Melody: Bye

I ran around the room then out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kirito standing at his window, looking into my room and watching me run around. I heard him chuckle and I quickly ran to my window, closing the curtain shut. 'HE SAW THAT! HE'S PROBABLY GOING TO THINK I'M WEIRD AND WON'T ASK ME!!' I quickly changed into a blue hoodie with SAO written on it in white lettering and jet black skinny jeans. I bolted downstairs and Ran into my sister.

"Sorry! I'm just really excited that Kirito is coming over!" I ran towards the door.

"You mean your boyfriend?" She joked as I blushed lightly.

"He's not my boyfriend!" I screeched at her. Just then, I heard a knock at the door and instantly opened it and there stood Kirito, smiling wide. "Come in, but lets go to my room so no one annoys us." I turned back and stared at my sister dead in the eyes.

"Okay, race ya!" After he spoke, he sprinted towards the stairs. I ran after him and grabbed a hold of his leg, making him fall. 'Good thing we have carpet floors..' I smirked and ran ahead of him and I sprinted threw my doorway with Kirito right behind me. "No fair! You cheated!"

"You never said I couldn't!" I smiled innocently. "so, you wanted to come over?"

"Oh yeah.. I wanted to know if you'd like to go to the Christmas ball...with me?" Kirito rubbed the back of his neck nervously. 

"Of course! I mean...Yeah, sure!" I turned pink.

"Great! I will see you tonight, okay?" I nodded and Kirito did something that took me by surprise. Kirito pulled me into a short and simple kiss then quickly pulled away and ran downstairs and sprinted over to his house then I saw my sister standing at the doorway, watching what we were doing.

"He's not your boyfriend? Yeah right! he clearly likes you! Asuna asked him today and he turned her down!" She then walked off to her room. Asuna! I remember she was in SAO with Kirito and I. Asuna liked Kirito, but I think he didn't feel the same way. He would always hang around me rather than her.

Flashback

Our guild had just defeated a difficult boss and decided to have a day to relax or train and I was walking back to my apartment when Kirito ran over to me and joined me. 

"Hey Melody! Want to hang out?" Kirito smiled wide.

"Of course!"I smiled back at him as Asuna ran over to Kirito and stood in front of of him, pausing our walking.

"Hi Kirito!" Asuna completely ignored me. "would you like to hang out with me?"

"I'm actually going to hang out with Melody.."I waved and Asuna rolled her eyes at me.

"You're always with her..why don't you hang out with me for a while?" Asuna had a flirty tone in her voice.

"Because she is my best friend." And with that, he grabbed my hand and continued walking back to my apartment. I looked back at Asuna and she huffed and walked off, angrily.

End of flashback 

'Tonight has to be perfect...' I thought as I ran into my closet and looked for a dress and found the perfect one. It was snow white with gold designs on the top half, leading down to the bottom half with was ruffled. (The picture above) 'I hope Kirito likes it'.

Time skip to the ball

I sat in the living room with my mother, checking the time constantly. I ran up to my room and ripped open my window and the curtain to see if Kirito was getting ready and he was, so I closed my curtain and ran to my closet, quickly changing into the magnificent dress and decided to wear snow white flats and walked to the bathroom. "Hm..." I decided to put my hair into a french braid and put on some make up. I heard a knock on the door, so I started heading downstairs. Once I was halfway there, I noticed Kirito was in a handsome white tux with a black tie and matching black dress shoes. 'He looks so handsome!'

Kirito's POV

"You look beautiful, Melody!" I was in awe. She continued walking down the steps of the stairs and once she was on the last one, I held out my hand and she took it, blushing pink. I gave her a white rose corsage and helped her put it on. 

"You two look so adorable together!" Melody's mother pulled out a camera and quickly snapped a photo of us.  

"Are you two dating? I saw Kirito-" Melody's sister was cut off.

"You saw nothing!" Melody exclaimed as she blushed crimson red. I chuckled and reached for her hand. She noticed and closed the gap between our fingers.  I smiled kindly and we walked outside and I waved at her mother and sister. Once we got outside, I heard Melody gasp. There was a limo waiting outside by the curb. "Is this for us?" I nodded and she smiled excitedly. I opened the door for her and she got in and I heard her say," what a gentleman." I turned red and went to my side and got in, sitting down next to her. After a few minutes, we arrived at the school which was decorated with snowflakes and snowmen. I got out and ran to Melody's door, opening it again for her. 

"Ready to have the best day of your life?" I took her hand again.

"How do you know it's going to be the best?" She turned to look at me. 'She's so gorgeous!' I thought.

"Because I plan to do something special." And with that, we walked into the school.
