Awakening

Melody's POV

I sat up in a hospital bed as a nurse and a doctor rushed in once I woken. I examined the room to find my parents, but they weren't there. 

"We have contacted your parents now and they are on their way. They will be pleased to see you awake again." The nurse spoke as they left the room. I weakly stood up and walked to the bathroom to look at myself in the mirror. My usual raven colored hair that went down to the exact middle of my back, now went down to the back of my upper thighs. I leaned in closer and my eyes were the normal greenish color.

"Woah.. my hair.. it's so long!" I giggled a bit and walked out of the bathroom and noticed that my parents had arrived. I noticed that both of my parents has tears glistening down their cheeks. My little sister  looked more mature and grown up. Before I entered SAO, she was 8 and loved acting like a little kid. She would always wear pink and have her cute little piggy tails in, but now.. she looked completely different. Her hair hair was down and straight, she was wearing her school uniform and she had a serious look on her face that was barely showing emotion. 'She had changed so much..' I thought to myself.

"Melody!" My dad ran towards me and scooped me into his arms, holding me tightly, not wanting to let me go and my mother hugged him with me in the middle and she didn't want to let go either. Who could blame them? Their eldest daughter got trapped in a life or death game for two years and wouldn't wake up.

"Let's go home sweetheart. You look very hungry." My mom spoke as she finally let go of me and soon after, so did my dad. She was right, I was starving. I really didn't have any decent meals except one.

FLASHBACK!!

Kirito and I were at a small restaurant in a village after we had just defeated a boss and treated ourselves to a nice dinner and we would share the cost of the dinner. I had sat across from Kirito, smiling like a fool.

"Congratulations to us!" Kirito held out a fist. I fist bumped him

"We did awesome!" I giggled as the waiter handed us the menu. We ordered and talked about our life's outside SAO. I learned a lot about him and he learned that we live next to each other, but never talked to each other. After we ate the delicious dinner, Kirito grabbed my hand, placing a locket in it and closed in a fist.

"Wear this forever, so that I can find you in the real world, okay? And I promise that I will find you." Kirito spoke with a sweet voice.

"I promise, Kirito." I smiled kindly and placed the locket around my neck. The he said something I would never forget.

" I will stop at nothing to find you once we get out of here and we will get out of here."

END OF FLASH BACK!!

My parents lead me to the car and drove home, asking me questions about what happened in SAO, except for my sister, who remained quiet the whole car ride home. Once we arrived, I lifted my hand up to my neck and felt the familiar touch of metal. "Kirito..." 

I walked up to my room once I arrived home from the hospital, looking outside as it was dark and the moon was shinning bright in the sky.

"Melody! Dinner!" My mother called down and I quickly bolted downstairs and sat in my usual spot at the table. As I ate, I couldn't stop thinking about Kirito. Once dinner finished, I was sent to bed as I started a new school tomorrow for kids who were in SAO. Once my head  hit the pillow, I was out like  a light.
