When I got back home, I started in my homework. I knew that I wasn't the smartest but my 93% average spoke wonders. We were just naturally smart in the family.
I heard the click of the door and knew that mum must have been back from work. I shouted a hey from upstairs knowing that she would have heard me.
I expected a hey back but there was nothing. I walked down the stairs feeling a little bit conscious considering the fact that there might be a kidnapper in the house.
But when I walked down the staircase, I was met with the presence of my mother reading something on her phone with a high level of interest.
I sneaked up behind her and was met with wattpad on her phone. She was reading a book called perfect addiction. I was not surprised. My mum looked and acted like a teenager.
Her long hair went all the way down to her waist. She had big blue eyes, naturally pink lips and dimples that I was sad I never got. She could easily be passed off as my sister for those that didn't know our family that well.
"Boo!" I shouted making my mum shriek in fear and jumping of the couch. She landed with a big thump and the sight just made me fall onto the floor with a full on laugher fest. My mum stood above me glaring at me.
Her suit and while outfit spoke respect to me. "Young lady, you are in so much trouble." The next thing I knew she had taken off her pumps and was now chasing me around the house.
…
We had just recovered from our little run around the house and were trying to make dinner. "So honey how was school today."
I answered back. "It was great I was so happy to see my best friends and get back to my English Literature class".
"So...."
"No mum I did not meet any new boys
I an still trying to get over Jason." I swear sometimes my mum acts liked a child."Honey, that was such a messy breakup and I think you have to live a little. Not every boy that comes your way would treat you badly."
"But that's the thing mum. To me he didn't treat me badly. You guys were saying he was bad for me and that's why we ended things."
"But honey you know we did what was best for you. He treated you like scum and you were just too in live with him to realise it."
"Can we not talk about this anymore. Let's just eat, please. Let it go mum."
"Okay, spaghetti sound good".
"Awesome".
