Senior year. I always imagined this year to be the greatest of my life.
The annoying ring of my alarm clock blared in my ear. I groaned, and slapped it off.
'First day of senior year.' I thought, and climbed out of bed. I walked over to my long mirror, and stood in front of it. I still looked the same as I did in 7th grade. Long, curly, brown hair; same ocean-blue eyes. I was averagely skinny, but not a twig. I stared at myself for a few minutes, looking for 'something, anything, different about me; but I didn't find anything. I sighed, and got dressed. After I was in my white sundress and flip-flops, I walked downstairs.
I greeted my mom and my brother, Alex, in the kitchen. I got out my favorite cereal, 'Frosted Flakes'.
"Hey, you know that the Taylor's are back in town," he said while I poured my cereal. I shot up my head.
"What? As in Charlie Taylor?" I asked, almost over-flowing my bowl with flakes.
"Yeah, him and his parents are moving back here."
"For good?" I pressed on. Alex backed up.
"Easy, Queen. I don't know, but I think he's coming back to school today." Alex replied, grabbing his book bag, and leaving for school.
I could not believe Charlie was back. He was as old as me, but after a bad car accident, him and his parents moved away. I shook my head, decided to head to school.
It was always tradition for my best friend, Charlotte "Lottie" Green, and I to walk to school together. I went to our normal meet-up spot, where I found her.
"Hey, Q!" She called, smiling. I smiled back, and waved. Lottie and I had been friends since 6th grade, and she has definitely changed. Her dark eyeliner, rimming her hazel eyes; nose piercing, and her blind hair with pink streaks. Even though we looked like two, totally, different people, she was my best friend. I looked at her outfit, loose black tank top, (which I could see her neon lace pink bra underneath), ripped jean shorts, and black ankle boots.
"New shorts?" I asked. She grinned.
"Do ya think Mrs. Vanson will like them?" She giggled. Mrs. Vanson HATED Lottie, and she was also the principal. I giggled, and shook my head.
