In Biology, we were assigned to do a project with our partner to write a 5 page essay on any organ. In this case, the partners were me and Charlie. I walked over to his desk; he was sitting there with his head down. I lightly tapped on his shoulder, and he slowly lifted his head.

He looked at me, and I stared into his eyes. They seemed...empty. I finally graspt some words and spoke.

"Uhm, do you want to come to my house to do the project? or yours?"

He still stared at me, and shyly nodded.

"So...my house?" I asked, confused. He nodded again, and put his head back down.

After school that day I heard a light knock on the door. I figured it was Alex, but it was actually Charlie.

"Uh, hi," I spoke, a little shocked. "Come in." He nodded, and walked in. "We can go to my bedroom and work in there, we can use my laptop." All he did was nod.

He followed me up the stairs, until we reached my room that was at the end of the hall. I opened the door and walked in. The walls were painted pink, and I still had my little stuffed puppy from when I was six laying on my bed. I was embarassed at first, but then I thought, what do I care? I don't know him.

He stood in the corner of my room, staring at me. I tried to break the awkward tension.

"So...got any organs in mind?" I asked, hoping he would answer. He shook his head. "Of course you don't" I mumbled.

An hour passed, and he still stood in the corner. I stared at my blank laptop. I already sucked at Bio, and my partner wouldn't talk. great.
